Mangaluru, Mar 15: The quarterly Karnataka Development Programmes (KDP) meeting held in the zilla panchayat auditorium here on Monday March 14 decided to begin the much-awaited phase two of the repair/renovation work of Shiradi Ghat stretch of national highway 75 immediately after the end of rainy season.

The meeting was presided over by Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai, who observed that road users had come across lot of problems during the first phase of road repairs because of closure of the road, asked the officials to allow at least light vehicles to move in the road during the period road work is on. He also instructed the district deputy commissioner to attend to scarcity of drinking water and sand in the district.

MLC Ivan D'Souza, complained about non-issuance of title deeds under rule 94 c by officials, who have been following delaying tactics. Rai instructed the officials to serve notices on those who fail to build houses and live in them within two years since the issuance of title deeds. If no reply is received in a week, the title deeds can be treated as cancelled, he added.

Assistant commissioner Dr Ashok, said that primary notification for acquisition of land needed for the widening of the national highway between the city and Karkala via Moodbidri and Kaikamba will be issued before the end of this month. Minister Abhaychandra Jain, asked the official to hasten the process.

Minister U T Khader, district deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim, city corporation commissioner Dr H N Gopalakrishna, city mayor Harinath, and zilla pcnahayat chief executive officer P I Shrividya were present.

Start second phase and at end of second phase again start repairing first phase.its a cycle which never ends and when people start protest go to foreign countries telling that they are going take new technology. Come back without anything except the enjoyment you had. Again come back by that time people of India will be busy with some other issue, almost forgetting this issue and again [Repeat].This is why India is growing at a very slow pace.

Waiting for Modi government to do something as even they are on their half way. Everything needs time at end of the day...
