Dubai, Mar 16: Fans of Konkani music in the UAE, young and old alike, are in for a musical treat. Konkan Yuva, the youth wing of St Mary's Catholic Church, Dubai has announced that it will organize 'A Musical Evening with Kevin Misquith' at 5.30 pm on November 4 this year at Emirates Theater, Emirates International School, Dubai.
Kevin Misquith is a household name among Konkani speaking population in Mangaluru as well as abroad. With his penchant for beautiful lyrics with great composition, Kevin has been a force to reckon with, among the other mighty Konkani talents.
Kevin has been producing and performing Konkani songs for over a decade. His first album 'Rupnem' brought him name and recognition, and there has been no looking back since. His albums 'Tuji Yaad', 'He Jeen' and 'Thembe Thembe' were all super hits. His latest album, 'Ek Geet', is a testimony to his musical prowess.
His album 'He Jeen' was nominated at Global Konkani Awards and won the award in best lyricist category. He has performed live in Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Goa and even internationally in the Middle Eastern countries for various music shows, festivals and his own Kevin Misquith live concerts.
However, what sets him apart is that, he is the only Konkani music composer after the great legends to have performed close to 40 shows in a quick succession at such a young age.
'Milestone' the music band will be flown in from Mangaluru for the event. Milestone, Kevin’s own group has given some of the most memorable performances in India and abroad. This will be the first time that they will be performing in Dubai.
Along with the musical treat, the audience are also in for a variety of entertainment including comedy by local as well as international artistes. All in all, the event promises to be an evening of outstanding performances..
