Mangaluru, Mar 18: The foundation laying and project launch ceremony of 'Shakthi Durga Empire', the tenth venture of Shakthi Durga Builders, was held at Mannagudda here on Friday March 18.
The programme was inaugurated by former MUDA chairman Suresh Ballal, while CREDAI Mangaluru president D B Mehta released the brochure.
In his address Ballal said, "Even though Mangaluru has not been selected in the first list of Smart Cities, we have always been living upto those standards. It is natural to expect a few special projects from the government but unfortunately we have not got them.
"Today we do not find many parks in the city. Layouts are being made in the city but the area allotted for them are utilized to dump waste. The MUDA and MCC officials are the reason for this," he alleged.
"I do not want this city to be like Singapore but like Malaysia. I wish the proprietor of Shakthi Durga Builders Lathish Suvarna all success and wish that he builds many more buildings to beautify the city," he added.
President of CREDAI Mangaluru chapter D B Mehta in his presidential address said, "The real estate bill passed by the union government will protect the interests of the investors. It solves problems like delayed delivery, non-delivery of promises, change in specifications and amenities. It will also create demand for good returns in real estate sector.
"Initially it was CREDAI that brought the real estate sector and builders under one roof. It also serves like the proposed real estate bill ensuring the safety of the investors and buyers. In its entire tenure, not even a single complaint has been lodged against any one of the CREDAI member. I wish good luck to Lathish Suvarna and Shakthi Durga Builders."
President of civil contractors' association Purushotham Kottari said, "Proprietor of Shakthi Durga Builders Lathish Suvarna is walking on the footsteps of his father Mahabala Suvarna, who, since his initial days as a civil contractor has been known for his quality service.
"This district is known to have quality sand, best red bricks and gravel required for construction business. Unfortunately, a mafia is trying to make these facilities unavailable for the people of the district by supplying them to other states and districts. I call upon all the people to join hands and work against the lobby," he urged.
"The buildings constructed in the city are known for their quality. I wish prosperity and contentment to the people who will live in this apartment complex in future," he added.
Proprietor of Shakthi Durga Builders Lathish Suvarna, his father Mahabala Suvarna, corporator Jayanthi Achar, senior surveyor Monappa Kottari and land owner Jayanthi Subraya Kottari were present.
