Mangaluru, Mar 18: Pattabhirama, south regional Saha Karyavaha of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Friday March 18 elaborated on the three-day Akhila Bharatiya Prathinidhi Sabha of RSS policy making body held from March 11 to 13 at Sharadapur of Nagaur in Rajasthan. The meet was chaired by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Suresh Bhaiiyyaji Joshi and during the three days, several important decisions were taken, he said.

Addressing a press meet at Sanghaniketan here, Pattabhirama said, "Last year, there were 51,233 daily shakas in the country, and now they have increased to 56,859. There were 7,522 full time RSS volunteers in 2014, but this number doubled to 14,592 in 2015-16.

"There were 13,784 weekly meets this year (2015-16), while last year we had 12,487 weekly meets. There were 9,008 monthly meets last year, but this year the number of meets was 8,226," he added.

"Three resolutions were passed during the Nagaur meet. They are - Need for effective care and easy access to affordable medical service; accessable, afforadble and qualitative education for all; practice of social harmony in day to day life," he said.

He further said that during the three days, RSS discussed four issues of national interest, elaborated in a press note as follows:

"Women and Temple entry: In the last few days, some social elements inimical to the wellbeing of the society have raised an unsavoury controversy over women's entry to temple. From the hoary past, we have been following a lofty tradition in which, in the religious and spiritual spheres, in matters of worship and piety, both men and women are naturally considered to be equal partners. Generally, both men and women are naturally permitted entry into the temples without any discrimination. Women also have been learning the Vedas and officiating as priests in temples in the natural course.

"However, because of some unfair traditions, at certain places there has been a lack of Consensus on the question of temple entry. Wherever such problems exist, attempts should be made to bring about a change of mind through proper discussions. It has to be borne in mind that such sensitive issues should not be politicised, and should be resolved only through discussion and dialogue, and not through agitations. From the point of view of social well- being, through the joint efforts of social and religious leadership, and the temple administration, attempt should be made to bring about a change in mentality at every level.

"Security agencies are target of anti-national forces: Repeated attacks being made targeting the security agencies in the last few decades, has become a big challenge to our security arrangements. Our security forces have been successful in repulsing all such attempts made by our enemies, through their valiant fight. The latest example of such attacks is the one made against our Pathankot Air Force Base recently. It is necessary to further tighten the security arrangements and make them foolproof so as to ensure that such incidents are not repeated anymore. Reviewing the efficiency of the security forces, the materials at their disposal, as also the officers in charge, necessary changes should be made. To curb activities such as Illegal migration, smuggling, Pakistan-inspired terrorism, such activities should be strictly observed for taking remedial action. With this view, it is necessary to review the infrastructural facilities to develop border areas, border security, and the materials, from time to time. It seems that Pakistan's India policy is decided by the military establishment and not by the elected government. The incidents from Mumbai to Pathankot testify this. Presently, the whole world is concerned about the growing menace of terrorism.

"Growing communal frenzy in the country: Incidents of violence and terrorist attacks at different places in the country have become a matter of grave concern for the patriotic and peace- loving people, and the law and Order machinery. Under the pretext of small and big issues, people at different places, armed with weapons taking to the roads in large numbers and creating an atmosphere Of fear and tension, as happened in Maida, has become endemic now a days. Incidences of destruction of public and private property, attacking the police force throwing the rule of law to the winds, looting and burning of business establishments, especially those run by Hindus, had taken place. Political parties, giving up their policy of appeasement, should take such incidents seriously and cooperate to restore the law and order situation and peace. This will be possible only when political parties and the ruling parties shed their petty and parochial political interests, and make a combined effort in the right direction. No political party Or person is more important than the national security. It is the responsibility Of an efficient and Strong government to instill confidence in the people about their securit.

"University campuses become hotbed of anti-national activities: In the last few months, reports about antinational and subversive activities in certain universities, has become a matter of concern."

On the change in RSS uniform, the press note stated:
"In a major morphological change within the organization, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) announced the change in Ganavesh (uniform) from its traditional khaki shorts to wood brown or also called 'coffee coloured' trousers or long pants. The announcement was made by RSS Sarakaryavah Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi at the press conference at the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) at Nagaur, Rajasthan.

On the issue of reservation, the RSS said, "If the affluent section of the society demands reservation, then it does not sound good. This reflects a deviation from the thought of Dr B R Ambedkar and the Constitution." stated RSS.

During the three day meeting homage was paid to eminent personalities in society and of RSS who passed away in recent months.

Dr Vaman Shenoy and Sunil Acharya were present during the press meet.

Some people want to break India in to pieces in the name of religion even though India sacrificed many lives during the freedom struggle and partition. It is unfortunate that India has to remain secular country even after partition took place on religion basis. This is the biggest blunder took place and India is paying a big price for being secular country. Minorities never get satisfied anywhere in the world and political parties try to take advantage of the situation trying to appease them as a vote bank.Countries like India require organisation like RSS to instinct nationalism among the people when political parties try to rule the country for the last 60years by keeping the people of the nation in dark. It is good thing RSS is changing its mindset by bringing new ideas which should have been done long time back. They have to keep Relogion on back seat and concentrate more on progress and helping in Building United Bharath.

RSS volunteer and vote to BJP are two different things.
Never expect that BJP votes will be doubled.
If so then, last TP election, there should have been all BJP candidates won with double number of votes.
RSS has a mindset that they are above the law and they are the law.
Whatever they say is the final law. They are the one to decide the frame limit of religious sentiments. They are the one who decide you eat beef or not.
They decide how much you have to pay as donation for a event not that how much you wish or willing to pay.
I had many friends who wore khaki during college days and now do not want pronounce the word RSS.
In simple terms,I feel that,RSS means thinking just about you and your village and once you are out of RSS then it is you and the entire world around you.

in 1947 they welcomed fleeing hindus from Kashmir. It was their their efforts which brought cooled down the communal tensions inside India.
You want to know about pre-independence? RSS was an organisation of sharp brains. They did not want to get arrested and waste their time in jails. Instead they portrayed themselves as an organization for the upliftment of Hindus and participated in the freedom struggle under cover.
Ofcourse, RSS had differences in accepting the tricolour initially, but when they accepted it, they did it whole hearted.
Do not forget Nehru invited RSS to participate in 1963 republic day parade.
