Young singer Mythri M from Udupi wins 'Mangalore Idol' contest

Mangaluru, Mar 22: After months of closely-fought rounds and a feast of performances by some of the best amateur voices in the coastal region, the melodious Mythri M from Udupi has been declared winner of the 'Mangalore Idol 2015'.

The contest, spanning over a period of seven months, was hosted by Big Time Creations in assocation with Daijiworld 24x7 channel.

While Mythri, a student of Poorna Prajna College, won the title, Vaishnavi Ravi, Rajath Mayya and Vishwatha Bhat bagged the three runner-up spots.

Speaking to daijiworld, an elated Mythri said, "It feels great to win Mangalore Idol 2015. The contest provided me a platform to showcase my talent. After winning Mangalore Idol, I have now got many opportunities to participate in different shows. I thank Suraj Bolar, Manikanth Kadri, all the judges and the entire team of Big Time Creations for providing me such an opportunity. I am fortunate to be assosiated with this prestigious show and winning it is awesome. I thank my parents for their unconditional support, the judges for grooming us, and the organisers for conducting such a show, which was no less than a national-level contest.

"Mangalore Idol was definitely a show for all young singers to exhibit their talents. I got to know many co-contestants by the end of it. The competition was pretty tough as all of us gave our best in every round, but apart from that, we were like a family," she added.

The grand finale of the contest was aired on Daijiworld 24x7 on Saturday March 19.

The first round of auditions was held on August 15, 2015, wherein over 200 male and female contestants aged above 15 showcased their singing talent. The second and final round of auditions was held on September 6 at Forum Fiza Mall which again received overwhelming response.

Thereafter, 20 contestants were chosen for the semi-final which which was held in the month of October.

Leading music director Manikanth Kadri, playback singers Supriya Lohith and Santosh Venky were the judges for the contest finale.

With a view to provide a platform to budding singers in the city and around, Big Time Creations in association with Daijiworld 24x7, the television channel of Daijiworld Group hosted the show. Big Time Creations team comprising Suraj Bolar, Neville Lasrado, Nayan Kumar Suvarna and Preetham M N left no stone unturned to hunt for the best talent in the region. The show saw overwhelming response and appreciation by all Mangalureans spread across the globe. The team is looking for support and cooperation for their next edition of 'Mangalore Idol'.
