Kundapur: ABVP protests against Mangalore University over errors in results

Kundapur, Mar 24: ABVP students of Kundapur Bhandarkar's College on Thursday March 24 held a massive protest rally against errors in the semester results of degree students declared by Mangalore University.

Addressing the protest, ABVP leader Rakshit said, "Mangalore University is causing much problems to students. The results of 1st, 2nd and 5th semesters are grossly inaccurate. Some students who have appeared for the examinations are marked as absent, indicating the irresponsibility of the University. The results will adversely affect the future of the students.

"If the University does not respond immediately and set right the anomalies, we will gherao the University on March 28," he warned.

Jyothi, a student, said that nobody answers the telephone in the University when students call to clarify on the problem. "The students are distraught and do not know what to do. We will fully support the protests," she said.

Hundreds of students took part in the protest. They later submitted a memorandum to Kundapur divisional officer.

    Now a days these type of errors are being committed by almost all the universities,mainly because of their laxity attitude.Definitely students,(who are really the assets of our country-future of India will be in their hands) future will be spoiled.Why it is happening very frequently now a days.University should answer for this.Those students present on the day of examination have been marked absent,the students with much expectation have been detained/failed,students who have not attended on the day of examination have been marked present etc etc are the errors,irregularities committed by the university.Why it has happened so?Is it due to gross negligence or to tarnish the image of the university by some yourunscrupulous staff.Shame on University for your utter failure in handling the situation like this.
    At the same time protesting against the same issue by ABVP instead of arriving to amicable solution through proper dialogue,negotiations with university authorities was the best option and highly condemned rather than wasting their precious time by participating in such meaningless protests.First you should know what is your credentials,importance and why you are going to school,colleges.You are going to school,colleges to gain knowledge and mould yourself as a good citizen.Don't indulge in such unwanted activities.We can understand your, sentiments and feelings and we are with you always.You are the future generation and the future of India is lyes in the hands of you people.Fighting for your right is always welcome but don't do it just for your mileage,don't waste your time and energy by participating in such filthy rallies,protest.God bless you.Be positive,constructive.

    Another opportunity to bunk classes and enjoy outdoors!!! Parents need to teach their children that education is more important than these useless protests. University will certainly rectify errors. No need roam around streets....like this!! I do not see a big future to most of them unless join politics or RSS!!

    @BhakSala Mysore,by the way who are you to give order?and what is the reason?without naming and identifying yourself,on media why are you giving order?when then contact poilce.Sutdents might be having right.Let them ,afterall it is their future,when aabsence is put,where they were in Saal,and wrote exams.How many students were suecide due to wrong results?

    There should be some medium to raise students grievances, ABVP seems to be a suitable one provided that it is not influenced by political link.

    In board exams, irresponsible results are declared, sometimes missing one digit for a hundred plus paper thus leading students to suicide out of desperation.

    Of-course the system of re-evaluation is there but it does not come for free. When first hand results cannot be trusted, re-evaluation is no better tool.

    Is there a measure to take evaluators to task upon re-evaluation differs from the first ?

    Best is multiple choice online exam...plus one mark for right answer...Minus one for wrong answer...Zero for not answering...

    Those who pass this with 70% pass marks online should be given a written exam....

    In US pass marks is 70%...For Medical and Nursing pass marks 75%...
