Udupi: Foundation stone laid for 'Grand Meridian' complex at Katapady

Udupi, Mar 29: Foundation stone was laid for 'Grand Meridian' residential-cum-commercial complex, the third project of Lakshmishyam Developers Kaup, opposite Corporation Bank branch near Katapady bus stand here on Monday March 28.

Fr Ronson of St Vincent Church Katapadi delivered the benedictory address. Uchchila Vishnumurty Bhat performed religious rituals connected with the laying of foundation stone.

President of Udupi Builders and Developers Association, Jerry Vincent Dias, speaking after lighting the lamp, noted that every person dreams of owning a home. "Therefore, every residence should be in an environment where people can have mental peace and contentment. Such qualities need to be borne in mind when creating residences," he felt.

Vasudeva Shetty of Deviprasad Constructions Kaup, said that hard work, efficiency and honesty should be combined when bringing up new buildings. He stressed that people loose their faith in construction companies which fail to deliver on quality. He felt that it is important to take into confidence people living in the neighbourhood before constructing buildings. He especially advised the builders to take enough care and precautions to see that people living in the vicinity do not face trouble on account of construction activity.

Zilla panchayat member, Janardan Tonse, Katapadi gram panchayat president, Juliana, former president, Vinay Ballal, Sairadha group head, Manohar S Shetty, Dr Raveendranath Shetty, entrepreneur, Baptist Dias, owner of the land, Kishore Kamath, Ganesh Kumar Mattu, partners of Lakshmishyam Developers, Varun Shetty and Jerald D'Souza, and several other dignitaries were present.

Stevan Colaco conducted the programme. Hitesh Shetty proposed vote of thanks. On the occasion, brochures about the building were released.
