Abu Dhabi : KCO gears up for entertaining 'Fiesta 2016'

Abu Dhabi, Mar 30 : With barely a month to go, KCO – Abu Dhabi is fully geared up to present this year’s top entertainment package 'Fiesta 2016' – the extravaganza bundled with top quality entertainment, will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Abu Dhabi Country Club, located next to Abu Dhabi Immigration Department from 6 pm onwards.

The organizers – the Konkani Cultural Organization (KCO), are upbeat with the response they have received towards this signature event so far which is held every year with lot of innovative ideas.

There will be mixture of Konkani, Hindi and English songs performed by leading Konkani singers from Mangalore and Goa. The entertainers include Jacqueline Fernandes, Robin Sequeira, Amabelle Moras, Joshal D’Souza from Mangalore and Bushka and Johny from Goa.

Leslie Rego – Compere beyond compare will surely keep the audience on their toes.

To spice up the event the scintillating dances by “Bollywood Dancers” will certainly steal the show.

The 6 member band from Dubai led by the hugely popular Rameiro will be in attendance and will be perfectly complementing the singers.

The organizers have requested everyone to come in large numbers to KCO's annual show and have promised to provide a wonderful musical journey from evening till midnight of May 6.

Organizers expect a full house audience to witness this show and are confident that this show will surpass the previous year’s success. The show has all the ingredients to become one of the best entertainment events to happen ever in Abu Dhabi.


A brief on the artistes:



Jacqueline Fernandes

Winner of the title “Rani Kogull” – Queen Nightingale of Mangalore at the Soad- 4 Konkani singing competition organized by Mandd Sobhann in association with Daijiworld 24x7 in May 2015. She was also awarded the western vocal solo singing, 6 times in a row at the interclass cultural fest held by Kasturba Medical College Mangalore from 2007 – 2013. She is currently working as a lecturer and consultant speech pathologist at Father Muller Medical College Hospital. 

Robin Sequeira

Robin, started singing at the age of 5. His singing debut was "Vodli Mai" of the late Wilfy Rebimbus.

Robin was part of a reputed band called "Strings" in Mangalore. He has won several awards in singing competitions. He has performed with many reputed singers like Eric Ozerio, Rony D’Cunha, Melwyn Peris, Lancy Moras, Norbert Pereira, team Masti, team Ye Mana, team Vismaya, Roshan Belman, Wilson Olivera and Henry D'Souza. He was recently crowned as "Rai Kogul-2015" at Soad 4 held at Kalangan, runner up of Soad 3 international held at Qatar 2012, adjudged as best male singer 2009 at Yuva Mahothsav and runner up at JCI Meri Awaz Suno-2010.

His has also brought out an album "Gaanvmozo" along with his wife Carol Sequeira.


 


Bushka and Johny

Goa's very popular leading fusion duo, versatile in different languages. They specialize in old retro konkani music and brought out 2 of their own audio albums namely 'Go Goa' and Mog Tuzo Mog'. They have sung inthe Konkani film 'Adeus Moga'. They have travelled and appeared in concerts in different parts of the world.



Amabelle Moras

Amabelle started singing at the age of 4 and professionally since the age of 10. She became a household name when she won the title of “Rani Kogull” in the 1st season of the reality show Soad organized by Maand Sobhann. She then went onto sing for about 50 devotional and pop albums in English, Hindi, Kannada and Konkani and participated inaround 100 shows in Mangalore, Bangalore, Bombay, Qatar and Dubai. She is currently based in Dubai working as a senior auditor for a reputable CA firm.




Joshal D’Souza

Joshal, pursued Carnatic classical vocals and keyboard class from Sandesha musical institute, Mangalore. She has won various singing competitions which include two Karnataka state level awards during her college days.

She sung for various live musical concerts in Mangalore, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Qatar such as Wilfy Nite, KCO Fiesta 2014, Lancy Henry Moras Nite, Maand Sobhann, USWAS Shirva, Kevin Misquith live concerts, Sandalwood to Bollywood, Hero-Unplugged, Indian Festival, Lancy Noronha Nite and many more.

Winner of Gulf Voice of Mangalore-2014, she has rendered her voice for various Konkani and Kannada albums.


Ramiro Band :

This band is around since 2010 and regarded as one of thetop bands in the UAE. This band comprises of seasoned musicians led by Ramiro Mascarenhas. The other members of the band are, Jackson Mascarenhas, Victor Antao, Benny Cardozo, Celso Soares, Philip Fernandes and Shammu Habeeb.

The master of ceremony will be the one and only Leslie Rego – The darling of thousands - with his inimitable style will keep everybody on their toes.

The event is held mainly in support of KCO's various projects in educating deserving students and meeting their commitment towards the needy and downtrodden. It will be also a wonderful opportunity to meet with friends in a relaxed atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
