Beltangady, Mar 30: In a tragic incident, a girl died under mysterious circumstances only a day before her wedding.
Vinutha (21), a resident of Vinayaknagar, Halepete here, died on Wednesday March 30 morning. Her marriage with Pratap was to be solemnized on Thursday March 31.
Vinutha was working in a a supermarket located on Ujire College Road. Her would be husband happens to be an attender in the engineering college at Ujire. The two reportedly were in love with each other since the last seven years, and elders from both the families had given their nod for this alliance.
Police sources told daijiworld that according to Vinutha's brother, she was suffering from stomach ache which became worse on Wednesday morning. She was then taken hospital, where she died after vomiting.
Sources said that a woman had given her some medicine for weight gain a few days ago, but this information could not be confirmed, nor has it been mentioned in the complaint copy.
The local police, who have registered a case, have begun investigation.
