Doha, Apr 2: Goan Welfare Association in collaboration with Link Marketing is gearing up for its 16th Annual May Queen Ball that is scheduled for May 5, at the Radisson Blu Doha Hotel from 7.30 pm onwards. The highlight of the event will be crowning of the 16th May Queen by popular Bollywood celebrities.
The event which is an annual feature has grown from strength to strength over the years and guests from the GCC and home country are expected in huge numbers to attend along with local guests. The organization is planning a mega celebration for this year, said GWA president Simon D'Silva.
Alcatrazz
Alcatrazz, India’s most celebrated and Goa’s top live band along with versatile female singer with a golden voice Sandra Franco will have the crowds swinging during the event. The organisers say that the band has an outstanding ability to set the floor on fire with its exhilarating and spectacular performances. Alcatrazz took off into the music world about two decades ago. The band grabbed attention right off the bat, by performing for all the top shows in Goa and across India and abroad. It has set the music world in Goa ablaze with its sensational blend of vocals, instruments, rhythm, visual technique in trend, and showmanship. The band's extensive repertoire of music such as English retro, Bollywood, latest from billboard charts and rock music is what makes every party a big success.
The band is powered by six top musicians with Cassian Fernandes (lead vocals), Patrick Silveira (drums and vocals), Cassius Fernandes (keyboards and vocals), Peter Faria (bass and vocals), Francis D'Souza (lead and vocals) and Sandra Franco (vocalist). Alcatrazz will also be performing at the upcoming May Ball in Muscat on May 27 and Goa Day in UK on July 31.
Also featured at the event will be DJ Glorio, with his exquisite choice of music that ensures that everybody has a great time. DJ Glorio will cater exclusively to the taste and choice of all.
Updesh Swar and Mahesh Prabhu
Goa's top hosts Updesh Swar and Doha's favourite Mahesh Prabhu will be the masters of ceremony at the event. Updesh has a unique hold over the audience, his eloquent, witty compering is second to none. Mahesh Prabhu has been actively promoting culture from the motherland to GCC countries over the last 18 years now.
The Goan Welfare Association has promised that the ball will be a fun-filled event that will present a superb and flawless show for the 16th consecutive time.
