Bengaluru: Mob attack - Techie tied, thrashed for allegedly stalking woman

Bengaluru, Apr 2 (PTI): A mob thrashed a married man working with an IT firm after tying him to an electric pole here for allegedly stalking and passing lewd comments at a woman, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday when the 25-year-old woman complained to her husband about being "harassed" by the accused while on her way to office.

The man was tied to an electric pole and allegedly beaten up by a group of people after the husband and his friends rushed there. The incident have been captured in a video.

Police said the accused had committed similar mischief with the woman a few days ago and had been warned by her husband.

After receiving information about the incident, police visited the spot and took the accused to police station.

The woman had not filed any complaint against the man who harassed her, police said, adding nor has he filed a complaint against the woman's husband and his associates for allegedly taking the law into their hands.

Police have let off the man after giving him a strict warning against any such act in the future.

Well done!!!! the right treatment.... Law when justice comes its too late better some times a common man take action so that next time accused will remember life time also warning to others who attend to do this.... These rapist all should be man handed to public law will take years for justice by then victim / family will be exhausted.

What the techie did was absolutely wrong but the mob attack was still more wrong. These people who attacked and tied the techie will face more problem. Never ever take the laws into your own hands as we do not know who is opposite to that.

Mob justice can never be a characteristic of a civilized society.Let the law take its course, even if it is little delay. If every other person standing on the roadside becomes a judge himself, we are heading backwards as a society.
