Mangaluru: DC Ibrahim rubbishes rumours of his transfer

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (DV)

Mangaluru, Apr 2: Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim on Saturday April 2 rubbished claims of his transfer and said that they were just rumours.

Sources claimed that A B Ibrahim had been transferred to Mandya, however, when contacted, Ibrahim laughed it off and said there was no such transfer order.

"Transfers are common in our profession. However, I have not been transferred. When it happens, I will let you know," he told daijiworld.

"This is just a rumour," he said, adding, "Rumours have become common in Mangaluru."

From the past few days, rumours have been rife about 'efforts' to get the DC transferred, amidst row over Ibrahim's name in the invitation of Puttur temple car festival, scarcity of sand and so on. Posts on social media like Facebook and WhatsApp claimed that MLAs from the district namely J R Lobo, Mohuiddin Bava and Shakuntala Shetty were lobbying for his transfer, and the opposition parties too had accused the three MLAs of the same. However, J R Lobo had categorically denied the allegations and clarified that neither he nor the other MLAs had approached the CM with any such request.

Sources in Bengaluru too confirmed that no official transfer order has been issued as yet.

A B Ibrahim took charge as deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada in December 2013.

Let us not disturb the best performing DC, Mr. Ibrahim.

There is still so much good work left to be done, which we would certainly like him to complete, before even thinking of his transfer.

Hope the 'rumour' is only a rumour.

In Dakshina Kannada there are few communal groups who don't wish for a tolerance and harmony in the society. Hence the population of SK for the last 30 years are almost constant. We are living in an educated society of financial prosperous. Let us not make this region socially unhappy. Let us live and let live. Jai Hind!

After Bharath lal meena 2nd person to respect is to Mr. Ibrahim. We people don't demand for fresh water, Good electricity & good roads. We want Religion, cast & language Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Here DC is not responsible for sand scarcity bureaucrats who is making laws. In coastal area Where saline water entering in summer that belt govt can give permission for removing sand here no question of ground water. politicians want money from both side for removing sand you have to bribe & Dredging of silt where joining river & sea you have to bribe (double income) end of the day fisherman dieing in Alivebagilu DC can suggest govt regarding this issue saline water area there no ground water issue.

Social climate of Mangalore heated up similar to Mangalore’s intolerable summer. Mangalore never witnessed such a huge debate on a Civil Servant (Mr. AB Ibrahim), who victimized for a silly reason, and which become a subject for the hungry media and incidentally which hit the prime time in National TV channels.
Politicians who were irked by Mr. Ibrahim’s sincerity, honesty & integrity are contributed to flare up the issue. Moreover, religion is always playing crucial role in our country especially in Dakshina Kannada. It is very unfortunate that religious compulsions override Government protocol!!!.
Now issue is why Society pressurized honest civil servant and compelled him to deviate from his duty!?, (I respect honorable court order). Mr. Ibrahim may get out from scenario which created a divide in society, but his good service will be remembered unbiased by everyone one in DK, it not a defeat of Mr. Ibrahim, it is a defeat of our system, our values.
Let us debate on the good work of Mr. A B Ibrahim, who worked day & night to fulfill his duty with greater sincerity & dignity. All like-minded Mangalorean’s must raise their voice to protect “Honest & Sincere” Civil Servant.
