Mangaluru, Apr 4: A garden built at a cost of Rs 5 lac under CSR fund by Karnataka Bank was inaugurated by Managing director of Karnataka Bank, P Jayaram Bhat here at SP office premises on April 4.

Later saplings were planted by superintendent of police (SP) Sharanappa S D and P Jayaram Bhat.

Addressing the gathering Jayaram Bhat said "Cleanliness is very important for any nation, state, district or town to progress. We are thankful to SP for giving us an opportunity to develop a garden here. We have built this garden at a cost of Rs 5 lac under our CSR fund. SP has asked us to help in maintaining this garden and if it is permitted under the CSR fund. I assure that we will do it. We have given about Rs 6 crore to various causes under CSR activity."

SP Sharanappa said "This garden was in bad condition. So when I casually asked PRO of Karnataka bank, Srinivas Deshpande, he happily agreed to develop this park. Accordingly they have developed a beautiful garden here. Karnataka Bank has also given materials like barricades and traffic umbrella worth Rs 5 lac. Karnataka Bank is one of major emerging banks in private sector. Under the leadership of Jayaram Bhat, it has progressed a lot. I thank Karnataka Bank and wish the bank all the success."

PRO of Karnataka bank, Srinivas Deshpande and others were present at the occasion.

That is mind blowing news and Karnataka Bank has did a good job. I hope this garden is well taken care off, even during this summer months where water is in short supply.
