Kundapur: 22-year-old killed after tempo traveller hits bike near Byndoor

Kundapur, Apr 5: A youngster was killed on the spot after a tempo traveller hit his two-wheeler at Nagoor near Byndoor here on Tuesday April 5.

The deceased has been identified as Karthik Shetty (22), son of Uday Shetty, a resident of Yerukone near Byndoor.

The accident took place when Karthik was returning home early morning after watching Yakshagana at Uppanda.

It is learnt that when he reached Nagoor, a tempo traveller hit his bike from behind, killing him on the spot.

Karthik finished his graduation last year. He leaves behind his parents and a sister.

The tempo traveller has been seized by the police and the driver has been taken into custody.

A case has been registered in Byndoor police station.

    now there is one more drama on the high way. Keeping the barriers in the middle of the road. I don't know what's this special method of controlling the traffic. Now a days it carries sponsor's name also... all the new painted barriers carry a board on Ivan D'Souza. Earlier I used to get angry on RTO officials seeing these barriers and now I get angry on this joker who , instead of asking why these barriers are kept a very unsafe mode... middle of the road... blocking the traffics. Every where they keep 2 / 3 barriers and enjoy seeing the vehicles stopped I guess. Definitely it can not be a way to control the speed and traffic. Instead it increases the probability of accidents to a higher count... especially being a massive threat to night drivers and non local vehicles.

    practically impossible. No space left for Pedestrians and you are asking separate lane for 2 wheelers. above that, do u think what ever space you give them will be enough for them ? Keeping this particular accident aside, I see 2 wheelers drove havoc on the road... no signals, left end to right end, corner to any gap , any direction to any direction, they move havoc and we the car drivers will be panic thinking how to safeguard our cars and also these bloody drivers. So, it's a mind set problem which has rooted in almost all 2 wheelerists in the city. any ways, RIP for this young life.

    RIP Karthik Shetty. Two wheelers kills many youngsters. Youngsters should be more careful while riding on these 2 wheeler's and driving others vehicles too.
