'Balika' death : Boyfriend Rahul booked for abetment of suicide

Mumbai, Apr 5 (IT) : Pratyusha Banerjee's boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh has been booked by the Mumbai Police for abetment of the TV actor's suicide today, on the basis of the complaint given by Pratyusha’s mother, India Today TV reported.

An FIR has been lodged against Rahul by the Mumbai Police. According to reports, there is enough evidence against the actor-producer for the police to book him. Also read: Cops to quiz Rahul after he is discharged from hospital

So far, Rahul has been questioned twice by Mumbai Police. He is currently in hospital and is apparently depressed and still in a state of shock. Rahul's father and sister have urged Pratyusha's friends and everyone in general to pray for Pratyusha's soul instead of making allegations.

The 24-year-old Balika Vadhu actress was found hanging at her home in Goregaon, Mumbai, on April 1. She was rushed to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital where she was declared brought dead on arrival. Some of her friends, Kamya Punjabi and Vikas Gupta, claimed in a press conference on Sunday that Rahul was cheating on Pratyusha and that the two were in a "messy relationship". They also alleged that Rahul physically abused her several times.

Rahul, who is currently in the ICU of Shree Sai Hospital in Mumbai, was admitted to the hospital on Sunday after he complained of chest pain and low blood pressure. He was later shifted to the general ward but has reportedly been shifted back to the ICU. His condition is said to have deteriorated.
