Kasargod, Apr 10: A farmer was found hanging from a tree amidst the vegetation grown by him on Saturday, April 9.

Koragappa Bhandary (47), an expert farmer from Kambaru Bedradka is the deceased.

As Koragappa did not own land, he had taken up five acres of land on lease and engaged in agriculture for the last several years. Besides paddy, he was growing different vegetables. An unexpected rain in November last year had washed away his crops grown in an area of 3 acres of land, causing loss of several lacs. He had to repay a loan of Rs 10 lac. Harvesting was not possible due to incessant rain. There was scarcity of labour too.

Koragappa also faced financial problems. He had written to the state government requesting for compensation but he did not receive any. He had gone to several government offices for nearly five months for submitting the application. Unable to cope with the circumstances, Koragappa Bhandary decided to end his life.

In a suicide note Koragappa has requested the government to protect his wife and children. Being the sole breadwinner of the family, he was looking after them with the income from agriculture.

Vidyanagar police have registered a case.

"Annam paramadma sayujiam",Farmer is its safe guard of food.King is his guard. But politicians want every body as their follower as beggar. They pick money from all their pocket with out any hesitation as tax and allow them to die as beggar so that nothing to pay back to any claim .But if it goes like this, one day these politicians and their supporters also will become beggar for food because they cannot eat money and they will not get food from any other country for killing or allowing to die all farmer.

So sad that Korappa Bhandari had to end his life as he was unable to pay back the loan he had taken for cultivation. Also he did not get any response or help from the government. May his soul RIP. Cultivation of the crops depend on the weather. Sometimes it rains too much and sometimes no rain at all. When crops fail, the government should help them by giving some subsidiary to get out of this financial problems.

Its so sad. 'He had written to the State Govt, visited several Govt offices...' What happened then? Nothing!!!!. Siddhu waived off lacs of rupees for Ambareesh treatment who fell ill due to heavy boozing. But for a farmer. Where is Rahul Khandi now? Whats happening in a Cong ruled state?

    Great Loss.
May the deceased Rest In Peace.

Indian Government is not at all willing to discuss about drought.

Supreme court raped central Government for not taking and interest in discussing and tackling drought and giving compensations to the states in the Country.

THEY ARE MUCH INTERESTED IN ANIMALS THAN HUMANS.

    COW GOVERNMENT'S CATTLE CLASS GOVERNANCE.
