Marvel superheroes to join 'Spider-Man' reboot

Los Angeles, April 10 (IANS): The upcoming “Spider-Man” reboot, starring Tom Holland as the superhero, will include cameos from other Marvel superheroes.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed the news to ew.com, saying: “He (Spider-Man) is in the universe now, and the fun of the universe is that characters go back and forth."

Sony Pictures Entertainment has teamed with Marvel Studios to produce the sixth movie in its franchise. Jon Watts is directing the currently untitled “Spider-Man” film, which focuses on a teenage Parker’s high school days.

Marisa Tomei will star as Aunt May, and Zendaya will also be a part of the film, which is set for release July 7, 2017. Its production is scheduled to begin in this summer.

Holland will debut his Spider-Man in “Captain America: Civil War”. A recent trailer shows Iron Man calling upon Spider-Man to use his web shooters against Captain America, implying that Holland’s character is on Team Iron Man in the film.
