State leaders sidelined, private agency's report decided choice of BJP chief

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, Apr 10: It is now revealed that before appointing B S Yeddyurappa as state party chief, the local leadership, contrary to tradition, was not taken into confidence at all.

Survey by a private agency, intelligence reports and inputs from Vajubhai Vala, the governor of Karnataka, played a major role in the appointment of Yeddyurappa as party chief, sources said, adding that local leaders, no matter who, were completely sidelined.

Some powerful leaders from Karnataka had secretly conveyed messages to New Delhi that they did not have objection to Yeddyurappa being projected as the chief ministerial candidate. But they did not want him as party president as they believed Yeddyurappa would form his own 'inner group'. These leaders believed that their opinions would be considered during the appointment.

But national BJP president Amit Shah had his own plans. He reportedly hired a private agency to do a survey on who could be the best candidate to take over the leadership in Karnataka. The unnamed agency studied all the prevailing situations in the state including the popularity of BJP leaders, their influence on voters, their charisma etc. The agency also studied the Congress party leadership in the state and came to the conclusion that only Yeddyurappa had the ability to take on the Congress. Intelligence reports and inputs by Vajubhai Vala, who is a close friend of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, also boosted Yeddyurappa’s chances, it is gathered. Yeddyurappa’s frequent presence in New Delhi as member of Parliament also helped.

Only Yeddyurappa and Santosh, a party organising general secretary from Shivamogga, were summoned to New Delhi on the day of Ugadi before Yeddyurappa was officially announced as Karnataka BJP party chief. State bigwigs like former party chief Prahlad Joshi, Ananth Kumar, D V Sadananda Gowda, Jagadish Shettar, K S Eshwarappa and R Ashok were informed only few minutes before the announcement, while other leaders received the news only from the media, sources said.

It is said that Amit Shah had decided not to consult local leaders as he believed that their opinions would not help in any way in choosing the right person for the party's top post in the state.

..Its a good decission..a crap high command during ADVANI era ruined BJP Govt in karnataka by listening to ANANTH group..YEDDI is not corrupt, even ex Governer openly said he did a mistake by allowing filing case against YEDDI due to political pressure..Courts cancelled his cases..there are more corrupts in present Congress Govt..ANJANEYA still minsiter, no one can touch DKS, CM cant get a 80lacs watch just freely..Lokayukta was strengthened during BJP rule thats why it was powerful..but look at now, Congress almost killed Lokayukta agency..then who is corrupt & who is sheilding them...YEDDI is known state leader..Others are only local leaders..Prahlad Joshi, Ananth Kumar, D V Sadananda Gowda, Jagadish Shettar, K S Eshwarappa can influence some (R Ashok was promising leader) but Yeddy is better choice..

BJP & its mentor parivar think tank often shout & claim that party is above person, …but see the hypocrisy at its best.., if we go by the news as reported BSY is proved himself larger than life figure within the party & specially in Karnataka.

Who knows in good olden days when BSY as CM of Karnataka, the top BJP leaders would have had their golden hand in all good deeds of Reddy, Yeddy & ch**dy combination.

Obviously.., Amit shah had taken a decision in the best interest of the party..,

As a fence sitter watching the dynamics of BJP polity I am of the view that Yeddy has the capacity to floor down BJP as a political party not only in Karnataka but also in Hindustan (though he is exonerated from all alleged corruption charges against him by the court of law.., the divergent perception among people is still prevail afresh b'coz they were at the receiving end then).

Though I like honorable Siddaramaiah as one of the tough Congi CM of Karnatka doing fine.., BJP may come to power in the next election.., if this comes true probably South Canara District candidate may get a chance have its CM (no marks for smart guess).

    Let us wait & watch.,

In principle Modi/BJP accepted that Modi waves nor BJP popularity will not work out Karnataka and they thought to outsource BJP to BSYBJP!!!It is very difficult to win Assembly seats with out taking confidence of local leaders.Being said Karnataka BJP leaders sidelined and even not taken in to confidence which makes things difficult to BJP/YEDDY/MODI....Perhaps SHOBHA might be queen of BJP and BSY is king of BJP in Karnataka.

Hi Mr. Yedurappa, should we address you as Mr. Corrupt King, Mr. Looter and so onso you are the new Karnataka BJP Party president, welcome back, still lot of wealth left in Karnataka, so we guess, BJP has appointed you to loot more.

Why is everyone in Karnataka BJP as well as Congress & JD(S) are petrified with this crook?

Unfortunately he is experienced crook politician, knows how to play his cards, always in news, in power news, lost power news, in jail news, out of jail news, in party, out of party, you name it always headline news, media and TV channels give too much publicity to this guy, god only knows why.
No doubt you love him or hate him, you just can't ignore this bloke, he being made party president will boost and help communal party BJP, who talks about anti corruption, good governance, but brings back a most corrupt guy and elevates him to Party president, BJP has no credibility, only looking for win ability, this is the reality of Karnataka politics.

Congress which is ruling the state has made things easy for Yedurappa, by their pathetic and most corrupt administration, with appointing tainted ministers, giving useless bhagya's, conducting useless Jyathi's, too much minority appeasement, CM roaming with expensive watch, making Lokayukth weak by constructing ACB, farmers are committing suicides everyday, law and order situation in the state especially coastal Karnataka is out of control, PUC examination papers leak, not once but twice.
naturally Yeddy & his BJP will come to power if useless CM Mr. Siddu & his govt doesn't rectify their mistakes and concentrate on giving good governance than wasting time in attacking PM Mr. Modi, BJP & Mr.BSY.

Either way we won't see congress in power after May year 2018. Their end is near.

Kannadigas are the biggest losers, if they don't vote sensibly.

    God save Karnataka.

    Dr.S.Kamath, Mumbai
What do you mean by "Bright future"?
Is it religion based "Bright future"?
Is it corruption based "Bright future"?
Is it development based "Bright future"?

In India corruption is in the blood cell of every politicians, government employees, Public servant who hold high positions?

Reducing the price for one place and increasing it elsewhere and suck the blood of a common man is not a development. Poor are punished day by day regardless of their religion and which party they belong to?

Can you highlight any single political candidate who is ready to sell off his asset and work for the public. If this was the case none of them would have joined politics.

I am not denying that, development did not take place in India? But to what extent?

It is very often said by politicians and same has been endorsed by many that, 60 years of corruption by Congress government, however, dont you see the present government is in the race with them to complete it within 60 months of period?

I am not a fan of any political party? Neither Congress nor BJP, but as a Indian citizen it all matters.

Let us hope harmony and peace prevails in our country and let everyone live their day-to-day life peacefully.
