Dubai, Apr 11 : St Mary's Mangalorean Community (SMMC) Dubai is all set to present Pradeep Barboza's brand new Konkani play, 'Sovai Budvont', on Friday, April 15, 2016. The show will be presented at St Mary's church hall at 7.30 pm. The entry is free.

SMMC, under the spiritual guidance of Fr Robert Lasrado, and with the support of committee members, have presented a series of programmes aimed at uniting the Mangalorean Catholic community under a single umbrella. It may be recalled that SMMC had organised successful 'Monti fest' event during September last, in which thousands of people had taken part. Later, SMMC also organised a successful sports day to encourage the sports talents in Dubai parish.

Speaking to daijiworld, Fr Lasrado said that apart from spiritual programmes in the church, it is also the community's responsibility to support and encourage young talents and provide quality entertainment. "Through this we also promote Konkani language. Since the show is open to all and entry is free, we urge people to come in large numbers to watch the play. It will be on first come, first serve basis. Therefore, come on time and occupy your seats," he requested.

However, if anyone wishes to support the event through sponsorship, Fr Robert Lasrado in St Mary's church can be contacted.

Pradeep Barboza, who has many successful Konkani plays under his belt, has written this drama. He has not only directed this play, but also featured in a key role. "This play is full of comedy, it provides relaxation from your day-today stress. Our talented and young team will try to give its best to the audience," says Prdeep, under whose direction a new Konkani movie 'El Aslyar Ek Na' will be released in Dubai in the month of May, 2016.

Apart from Pradeep, Alphonse Moodubelle, Nanu Marol, Ramcy Fernandes Kulshekar, Godwin Castelino Attur, Paul Dsouza Paladka, Dainy Dsouza Pamboor, Vinay Pinto Paladka, Helvin Dsouza Kuloor and Venshia Agrar also feature in the play.

Cyril Baptist will provide the music.
