Karkala: Sri Lankan lady left in lurch again - husband vanishes

Daijiworld Media Network - Karkala (SP)

Karkala, Apr 11: K R Rafiya from Sri Lanka, who is employed at Kuwait, and who had come here during second week of January this year in search of her husband, Yousuf, had succeeded in extracting confession from Yousuf, who was initially hesitant, that he had indeed married her when in Kuwait. After Yousuf promised in writing in the presence of police to look after both Rafiya and the lady he had married after returning here, well, Rafiya had gone back to Kuwait based on this promise, to resume work as beautician.

The police here recently got a call from Rafiya who stated that her husband had cheated her, by not coming to Kuwait as promised earlier. In the meanwhile, Yousuf, it is found, has gone missing from his house at Jodukatte Miyar.

Syed Mubeen Yousuf, Rafiya had claimed, married her when he was working for a oil company in Kuwait. He had lived with her for a year, before returning to his native place in the guise of attending sister's marriage. He had married another girl at this native place during that visit and settled here permanently thereafter.

Rafiya came to the town during January second week this year, met the police, accused Yousuf of marrying another lady without informing her, and wanted to register case of fraud. The police had summoned Yousuf to the station, and after Yousuf committed in writing to look after both his wives properly, Rafiya withdrew the case and returned to Kuwait.

As Yousuf failed to come to Kuwait as promised, Rafiya contacted the police here over phone and complained that he had cheated her. Rafiya, who has made lot of enquiries about the whereabouts of her husband, suspects that his family members must have encouraged him to shift his home to somewhere else. She is also said to be pooling information whether he had escaped to a foreign country or hiding somewhere in India.

    Concerned,

Similarly, you need not celebrate on referred innocent victim's release. An individual was being monitored for suspicious moves. It so happens that the police detained a wrong individual but the actual one escaped. Its not the loss for the police but for entire India. I believe so but you will not because you will always have a soft corner for such people !

Its exactly because of a handful of miscreants dreaming about taking over India's rule, are all Muslims in India are targeted. Are you aware that SRK does not take even one piece of baggage on his name while travelling outside India ? If he were to crib like you, the noise would have been in several multiples than yours but he doesn't. Why ? Because of a few miscreants, some especially from Bhatkal !

Its clear that the guy doesn't want the woman In that case best solution would be a divorce and good compensation. The lady may take help from friends and lawyers and settle the issue rather than running after a man who doesnt want her in any way Why simply suffer Thats why we must be very careful before a marriage Once the noose is tight round your neck nothing much can be done

    Dear Lydia,

Not to be seen after that Bhatkal incident. I thought you disconnected from Daijiworld after the release of the "TERRORIST (/INNOCENT)" from "BHATKAL". But next time I request you to make sensible comments before knowing the actual situation or ground reality.

    Thanks

I ask, where are the Mullas who issue fatwa at the of a hat on issues unsuitable to them ? How come they allow a member of their community misuse the religion in this manner ? They should have suggested a solution instead of the police being burdened for personal problems.

How can she force him to come to Kuwait ? He may be having some issues related to visa. Why can't she either come to India and settle or go back to Sri Lanka and take him with his second wife to her country ?

Being constantly pulled in two opposing directions in this manner, someday the man may give up to sustain - what with the two fight for then ? Absurd !

What fatwa should mullas issue in this case?? what do you think?, if mullas tell something, he will be obeying that??

The issue should be discussed with his first wife's family from mlore, may be they restricted him from going to Kuwait.

Miss Lydia, let me clarify you what exactly is FATWA & avoid your & many others misconception.

The word "fatwa" actually mean, is an Arabic word, & it literally means "opinion". Related words in Arabic are "afta", which means to give an opinion, & "yastafti", which means to ask for an opinion.

A fatwa is an Islamic legal pronouncement, issued by an expert in religious law (mufti), pertaining to a specific issue, usually at the request of an individual or judge to resolve an issue where Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh), is unclear. Typically, such uncertainty arises as Muslim society works to address new issues.

In a religious context, the word "fatwa" carries more meaning. This is because when a Muslim has a question that they need to be answered from an Islamic point of view, they ask an Islamic scholar this question, and the answer is known as a "fatwa". This "fatwa" carries more weight than just the random opinion of any person on the street. Muslim scholars are expected to give their "fatwa" based on religious evidence, not based on their personal opinions. Therefore, their "fatwa" is sometimes regarded as a religious ruling. Here is an example of a fatwa: As you know, Muslims are expected to pray five times every day at specific times during the day. A person who is going to be on a 12 hour flight may not be able to perform their prayers on time. So they might ask a Muslim scholar for a "fatwa" on what is the appropriate thing to do.

We might compare a fatwa to the legal ruling of a high court or the Supreme Court, depending on the authority of the mufti behind it.

Miss Lydia, so in this case of martial dispute, it’s not the fatwa which is required but a ruling i.e. judgement from the Islamic court, only if the case has come to its premises i.e. if the victim or their relative has filed any formal complaint for settlement in Islamic court. If a complaint is not filed all they (clergies & every wise person) can do is to guide him. He is answerable to his deeds

The lady says they got married in Kuwait. Do you think she hasn't complained to Sharia authorities in the Kingdom ? Certainly this fear has stopped the hero from going to Kuwait.
