Bahrain: Sangeetha Rasa Sanje 2016 musical to be held on Apr 15

Bahrain, Apr 11: An evening of top-class music and entertainment awaits people from Karnataka, in the city later this month as renowned stars and singers will take to the stage at the Indian Club Bahrain.
The much-awaited 'Sangeetha Rasa Sanje 2016' will be organised by Namma Kannada in association with the Indian Club Bahrain.







While acclaimed singers Vikas Vasishta and Sangeetha Raveendranath will take the audience on a musical journey of melodious songs and fresh new numbers, star performer in Kannada TV serials Jayashree will anchor the show with Kamalaksha Amin, a popular local talent.

Pranayaraaja Dr Srinath, a renowned Kannada actor who has nearly 300 films to his credit, will be the chief guest on the occasion. Sudha Rani, a popular Kannada actress, will add glamour to the event, which will also feature dances by talented local artists choreographed by Chandrakala Mohan, Namitha Salian, Preetham Achar and Prajwal.

Dr Srinath, who started acting in theatres from the age of 8, was an acclaimed actor in the professional drama scene before he entered the film world with ‘Madhura Milana’ in 1969. The movie ‘Subhamangala’ made him a star in 1975. He has acted in 190 films in a leading role and in 80 films in supporting roles and continues to act.

Dr Srinath, along with his wife Geetha, who is also a talented actress, has produced five films, including the legendary ‘Manasa Sarovara’ and ‘Dharani Mandala Madhyadholage’ directed by Puttanna Kanagal. He is the recipient of many awards, including the Karnataka state honour and the Filmfare awards.

Sudha Rani, who entered the tinsel world as a child artiste, has acted in over 200 movies. Her acclaimed films include ‘Devataha Manushya’, ‘Jeevana Chaitra’, ‘Panchamaveda’, ‘Mysoora Mallige’, ‘Srigandha’, ‘Aragini’ and ‘Mane Devaru’. She has acted in all four South Indian languages plus a Tulu movie.
Sudha Rani won the Karnataka State award and the coveted Filmfare award twice. She is also the face of many popular brands in Southern India.

Vasishta, who won awards for his songs in ‘Manasaare’, has given over 600 concerts in India and abroad. He has also worked as music director for several movies. Sangeetha Raveendranath has also given many hit film songs in recent years including the 'Tithli, Tithli …' in Ranna and has performed in many prestigious shows. They will entertain the Bahrain audience with old and new Kannada hit songs.
The event, which is expected to draw a crowd of about 1,500 people, will be held at the Indian Club’s open air theatre and start at 6.30 pm. Entry is free.
