Britney Spears to release her new album next month?

Los Angeles, Apr 11 (IANS): Singer Britney Spears is reportedly set to release her much-anticipated new album next month.

According to Las Vegas Sun's Robin Leach, the former "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" host who is quite reliable when it comes to anything related to the pop diva, a follow-up to 2013's "Britney Jean" could come in May, reports aceshowbiz.com.

In a tweet posted over the weekend, Leach said that Spears would select the lead single from her forthcoming record on Monday and shoot the video a week later on April 18. The album itself is "coming in four weeks."

"Coming Monday at Vegas DeLuxe: Britney selects her new single and will shoot its video the following Monday with album coming in four weeks," Leach tweeted on Sunday.

Spears has been working hard on what would be her ninth studio instalment with several songwriters including Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter, the ones behind Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber's recent hits. She has been planning to release the album later this year, but she always refuses to set a release date.

"Honestly, I'm just particular with this record. It's my baby, and so I really want it done right," she said of the album in an interview earlier this year.

"I just know that the direction I'm going in is so good. It's the best thing I've done in a long time. I'm proud of the work, and it's very different; it's not what you would think at all."
