Bengaluru, Apr 11: After repeated leakage of Chemistry Question Paper for II PUC examination, PUC students are bracing up for writing the examination in the same subject for the third time on Tuesday.

The frequent leakage and repeat examination has become a big nightmare for the students besides causing anxiety to the parents while the State Government and the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka are keeping their fingers crossed to avoid further embarrassment.

The leakage of question paper twice this academic year has meant great distress for students as well as anxious moments for their parents.

The Department of Pre-University Education has come under severe criticism after two question paper leakages.

The Criminal Investigation Department of Police, which is probing the case has already arrested five persons in connection with the paper leak episode.

The repeat examinations has changed the study schedule of 1.74 lakh students, who were supposed to have completed their second pre-university examinations in the last week of March according to the original calendar of events.

Many students have complained that the new calendar of events will give them little time to prepare for competitive exams for continuing their studies.

Many students are keeping their fingers crossed and hope that there will be no glitches in the exam on Monday.

To ensure that the examination is conducted on Tuesday, the Department has printed multiple question papers for the Chemistry examination.

All the question papers are expected to reach the district treasuries by the end of Monday.

Police personnel have been deployed in all the district treasuries to keep a strict vigil on the question papers.

A three member team of IAS officers along with the Director of Department of Pre-University Education and the Principal Secretary of Primary and Secondary Education are monitoring the situation closely.

The Deputy Commissioners of each district will be sent an SMS about which question paper bundle needs to be dispatched to the examination centres on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Department which is under intense pressure has faced another hurdle as the principals and lecturer's association have boycotted evaluation of second pre-university answer scripts since April 5.

The lecturers and principals are demanding hike in their basic salaries. The boycott of evaluation is likely to add to the stress of the students as there will be a delay in announcement of results.

If I have to look at positive chance to write 3 times would give opportunity to relearn and understand the concepts clear Not sure why stressing ourselves on this.

For the inconvenience all students need to be helped materially May be Rs. 10,000 per student Should claim big amounts so that never again repeat this stupidity. This funding need come from people/ dept repressible for the leakage. This would be win-win situation for both.

Suspending people does not help students. It is just cover up damage and things will go on in India. I think students need to unite to fight back for the poor exam holding operations
