Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Apr 12: The police from the town police station here have succeeded in arresting a gang that was waiting to rob road users at Kakkunje Cross at Perampalli in Shivalli village here on Monday April 11.

The police swung into action after they were alerted by a passerby who saw that a few people, who were standing by a parked car, were conversing among themselves in Hindi about robbery. At around 3.30 am on Monday, a team of police went to the spot, seized the car, and arrested three persons including a woman.

The arrested persons gave their identities as Suresh Choudhary, Premlal Jat and Durga alias Divya, all from Rajasthan. Two gang members, Nathuram and Omprakash, fled from the scene during the operation duly throwing away arms held by them. The police team was accompanied by informant, Ganesh Kotian.

Upon interrogation, the gang members revealed that they planned to intercept people walking on the road, and rob them of cash and gold ornaments. The gang members had taken a woman with them to see that their prospective victims do not get suspicion about their motive in advance.

Apart from a Tata Indica car, screw driver, a pointed weapon, blade, saw, hoe, hand gloves, torchlight, chilly powder, cellphone, Adhaar card, and Rs 2,000 in cash were recovered from the arrested gang members. A similar gang that was stealthily moving about in Sagri area had been arrested by the police on March 18.

It is said that during questioning, the gang revealed that about 200 criminals had come to the district from Rajasthan and camped in different areas for undertaking robbery and thefts. They also have experience in opening shops dealing in electronics goods and cellphones at night and undertaking serial thefts by exchanging information between themselves.

Good act by police. there was another incident in shiradi ghat where one of the robbery plan caught. Looks same group. Police must immediately act on this subject and ensure all of them are arrested , sent to jail or exported back to Rajasthan. Our hospitality should not be an excuse for these goons to rob our people in return. any ways, screw these people caught, you will get complete network of all 200 people came for the execution.

It's not the question of friendly nature..but not bother about there city much. All people are divided in one or other matter. They do not have so much intelligence to distinguish between crimanals and right person. That's the problem. Everytime people seen near 'Gadang'. Gujarat is dry state..24 hours active.
