Kasargod, Apr 12: Two students drowned in a rivulet on Tuesday April 12 afternoon at Bedadka Kundaguyi near here. Five students were saved from drowning.
The deceased are Jainul Abid (20), son of Abubakar from Kozhikode Ramanatakara and Jabir (12), son of Abdulla from Kelathuru Kalladakutti. Jabir was a seventh standard student.

Jainul Abid and his friends had arrived to participate in the wedding of Jabir's sister. A group of friends got down in the rivulet in the afternoon when the tragic incident occurred.
Though friends tried to rescue Jabir and Abid, they failed. Local people rushed, lifted them and took them to the hospital, but their lives could not be saved.
The dead bodies are kept in Kasargod general hospital. They will be handed over to the relatives after post-mortem.
Five students were saved from drowning, eye witnesses said.
