Two youths from Kanhangad killed in accident at Piriyapatna

Kasargod, Apr 12: Two persons from Kanhangad here were killed in accident at Piriyapatna in Mysuru district on Tuesday April 12.

Deepu (25) and Vijesh (25) of Kanhangad South were killed when bus rammed into the two-wheeler at Piriyapatna on Mysuru-Hunsur highway.

It is learnt that the duo had been to Mysuru four days ago for a job interview and the accident took place while they were returning to Kanhangad on Tuesday.

When they reached Piriyapatna, a Karnataka KSRTC bus rammed into their two-wheeler. Both sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital, but they failed to respond to treatment.

Documents found on Deepu and Vijesh helped in establishing their identities.

Deepu was working as a photographer with his father in Kovvalpalli, Kanhangad, while Vijesh was a taxi driver.

Sources said that Vijesh had been employeed in the Gulf before and had come back to his hometown in December 2015. He was supposed to return to Gulf shortly after Vishu festival.

The bodies were shifted to the mortuary in Piriyapatna government hospital

Families of the both the youths have been informed and are on their way to Piriyapatna.
