Kasargod, Apr 17: In a shocking incident, a young techie brutally stabbed five members of his family including his parents, before commiting suicide. The incident was reported at Nekraje near Badiadka here on Sunday April 17.

Ashwin Kalluraya (24), a resident of Chatappady, Nekraje, committed suicide after allegedly stabbing his parents and other family members.

Ashwin reportedly stabbed his father Srihari (57), mother Lata (52), sister Suma (33), aunt Vanajakshi (50) and grandmother Sugunamma (80). All of them were admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.

The neighbours who heard the family members scream came rushing to the spot and took the injured to the hospital.

It is learnt that Ashwin escaped from the spot soon after the incident. A search conducted for him, during which he was found hanging from a tree in the family's plantation.

The locals rushed him to Kasargod government hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Ashwin had completed engineering in Bengaluru and was working at Coimbatore. He came to his hometown just two days ago. The locals said that he seemed to be mentally disturbed.

Badiadka police have registered a case.

    Dear Ronald,
Even if what you said were true, that is no reason to stab one's parents. No one in the right frame of mind would attack the parents.

So sad .I am sure he had really some psychological Problems. Many People who are working in this branch ,continuously with numbers and formales hunting and work hard ,are getting sick.when less rest, and inbetween personal Problems come, they become upset.who knows what was wrong.sometimes when parents notice, they dont want to Show outside,it may harm them .Better immediately go to a psychological doctor.Hope his Family get well soon, but fate is he is dead.how would they bear this loss .may God give them enough strength to bear .heartfelt sympathy to them.and Soul of the dead rest in peace.
