Udupi, Apr 20: MLA Pramod Madhwaraj unveiled the DNI cricket trophy at Sheshashayana Hall, Kidiyoor hotel on Tuesday, April 19. The Udyavar Friends, to mark its silver jubilee celebration, will be hosting the DNI trophy national-level tennis ball cricket tournament from April 29 to May 1 at Udyavar gram panchayat ground.
The DNI Home Theatres also launched its first ever branch in Udupi district on the occasion.
Inaugurating the event by lighting the lamp, MLA Pramod Madhwaraj said, "Cricket is a game that attracts youth. There is a special love for cricket amongst the youth in Udupi district. Youth of different associations in Udyavar organize cricket in regular intervals and invite the youth of the district. Udyavar Friends Club has organized many tournaments which have brought out the local talents who have been recognized at the state level. I congratulate the organizers on the completion of the 25 years of the institute."
Bhuvanendra Kidiyoor said, "My father hails from Udyavar and I know them and their love for cricket in Udyavar. I wish that the tournament becomes a grand success."
Speaking about the DNI Home Theatres he said, "When Alex Lewis came to me promoting his brand, I was quite impressed with the quality he promised me. I asked him to set up one of his brand home theatres at my house. The quality was just amazing as he had mentioned. I would like to recommend anyone who would like to buy it."
