Bahrain: Konkani Community to present 'Sangeet Sanz' on May 12

Bahrain, Apr 21: The Konkani Community of Sacred Heart Catholic parish, Bahrain will present 'Konkani Sangeet Sanz' at Manama, Bahrain on May 12 at 7.30 pm.

It is a feast of popular Konkani melodies in which well-known Konkani singers Rony D’Cunha and Preema D’Souza with rising stars of Konkani music world, famously known as ‘Singing Sisters’ Lanisha and Delisha, will render their melodious voices.

Music coordination will be done by Swibert Mascarenhas.

Award-winning master of ceremony Ronald Olivera Padukone will compere the show.

In addition to pleasing music, comedy will also entertain the audience. The trio of Jaison Lasrado, Lancy Rodrigues and Stephen Machado accompanied by Rajesh and Lucy will make them laugh with their rib-tickling comedy skits.

The show will also have variety of cultural dances by trained youngsters.

The venue of the show is Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium, Manama, Bahrain.

    The Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Bahrain brings back so many nostalgic memories of the past 60 years. When life in general was tough in those days with limited electricity, limited income and limited facility, the Sacred Heart Church as well as the congregation as a whole gave us the very best of Religious as well as social benefits during the difficult days of the past.

    I had the privilege of staging two Konkany Concerts in Bahrain, and the Sacred Heart Church gave the best of moral and physical support. Most of the musical instruments as well as the Musicians I acquired from the Bahrain Police Department thru the kind support of Col. Hammersley, a British Combat Veteran who was willing to help me by giving not only some of the best Goan musicians but also allowing us to take some of the Musical instruments.

    Those were the days to recollect and thank God for all the blessings showered upon us to perform "something out of nothing" in a far distant land where we wanted to prove the benefits of not only our talents but also our willingness to give back to the Society and Community.

    We wish best of success of "Sangeet Sanz", and our best wishes also go out to Shriman Ronald Oliveira whose leadership has been witnessed and admired with a keen sense of appreciation.

    All the best to Konkani Community Bahrain. Golden Voice of Rony Dcunha and melodious voice of Preema it will be a great treat to music lovers. Award winning MC Ronald Oliviera who will sure make audiences will be glued to their seats and our very own and best comedians of Kuwait.. I am happy that they are part of Sangeet Sanz. Jason Lasrado, Lancy Rodrigues, Lucy Aranha and Rajesh..They will make you laugh and ask for more with their rib tickling jokes. All the best..
