Mangaluru, Apr 21: The JMFC court here has restrained the media as well as individuals from telecasting/publishing/exhbiting any news, photographs, videos or any other items concerning Expert Group of Institutions which are likely to cause damage to the name and reputation of the group, their chairman, staff, students etc till the next date of hearing.
Chairman of Expert Group, Narendra L Nayak, has clarified that no CID raid had occurred on Expert PU College here relating to question paper leakage. "The CID officials, entrusted with the above case, had visited the institution and sought some details. By furnishing them all the information sought by CID officials, we have extended full cooperation to the ongoing investigation.
"However, a visual media, driven by ulterior motives, had beamed the false news that the CID officials had raided the institution and seized incriminating documents, thus spreading false information among the people. Expert Educational Institution filed application in the court praying for injunction, and convinced the court that the channel had spread false information about the institution with the specific aim of sullying the image of the institution. The court, which upheld the petition, has restrained anyone from spreading derogatory and defamatory news about Expert educational institutions, chairman of the group, its staff, and students," he explained.
As per the order, video footage about Expert group of institutions or those connected with them cannot be telecast. Narendra L Nayak, who noted that this is the preliminary victory against spreading of false information campaign in visual and other media, added that suit will be filed against the conspiracy to defame this educational institution.
"Expert group of educational institutions, since the last 29 years, has been providing quality, effective education through experienced and well-versed lecturers in a disciplined manner. Our institution has never been involved with any kind of PU question paper leakage, nor do we need such an exercise.
"Our institution has done exceedingly well in the field of education, which is a result of hard work put in by students and teachers. The students who were educated at this institution and heir parents stand as testimony for the above information. Spreading of wrong information or message results in insult to hard work and honesty of the students and the teaching staff," he said in a release.
