Government revokes Vijay Mallya's passport

New Delhi, Apr 24 (IANS) : The external affairs ministry on Sunday revoked the passport of liquor baron Vijay Mallya, who owes Rs. 9,000 crores to various banks in India and is currently residing in Britain.

"Having considered the replies furnished by Vijay Mallya to the show cause notice, facts brought by Enforcement Directorate, and Non Bailable Warrant under the PMLA Act, 2002 issued by Special Judge, Mumbai, the MEA revoked the passport of Vijay Mallya under Section 10 (3) (c) and 10 (3)(h) of the Passports Act, 1967," MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.

The ministry had earlier said that the central government was committed to bringing Mallya back in India to face justice.

Mallya had failed to honour Enforcement Directorate(ED) summons for questioning in various cases pertaining to his loans and allegations of money laundering.

This course of action just to complete formal procedures and indirectly to fool the public.
Why they were sleeping so long at least before his great escape to UK.
This is Modi government. All the great brains only in the books, practically slow in decision making. At least our countries leader would have sent a message on some guidelines.

Dirty politics by the Central Govt. why is the Govt. not taking steps to get back Lalit Modi or revoke his passport. There are so many businessmen who are defaulters and are bribing officials.
Surprising is the banks rejected Mallays offer to pay 6000cr, a normal person would take that money. BJP also promised to bring back black money, not even a single penny is back, may be BJP minister are involved too!! TWO FACED GOVT.

For everything has season , to rise or fall, honor, respect or shame. No one know the time and way .he had great time, with wealth rejoicing with name, fame, popularity with young girls. May never thought this day will come for him. Once everything is like heaven for him and now opposite, fear of facing media world, living ….

Revoking the passport of Mallya is nothing but eyewash to fool the innocent people of India. Certainly, he escaped from India with Blessings and advice from DHAKU, FEKU & JOOT-LAY. This is one more Juumla like Kaala Dhan vaapas within 100 days and Rs.15 lakhs to every citizens account. BOLO BHARAT MATA KI JAI.

Mallya must be having loads of information about black money, swiss, panama accounts and other big wig deals in India. If the Govt. of the day really goes hard on him, he will surely black mail them as a whistle blower. Hope the circumstances lead to this and a whole lot of parasites will come out of the BOX.

His planned escape from India might had contingent plan in the event of revoking of PP included...That is why he did say "I have no plan to return to India under the circumstances"Is he now Stateless? If so UK should deport him because he is not political assulum seeker.Important to note that he is economic terrorist which made thousands jobless and thousands faces court notices(bank officials).

His purchased multi-million dollar esate in UK recently which makes him real terrorist having no regard to India or Indianess.Good decision by Govt of India.A red corner notice will do his arrest?

He probably has one of South American countries passport. It is very difficult to extradite anyone from Britain due to EU human rights. People who arranged for him to flee India should be investigated and punished.

Nothing will happe. People who helped Lalit Modi to flee are safe. Lalit modi is enjoying there and laughing at Indian fools. Same will happen to Mallya. Do you think UK will send him back. He can be a worthy refugee there. Indian government is fooling people. And the bhakts are believing it.
