Mangaluru, Apr 25: "Faith in God is indispensable to any religion. Dharma is essential for a disciplined life in human society where all sections of people can live together harmoniously. Dharma is the way to lead a better life without resorting to violence," said Vidhyaprasannateertha Swamiji of Subramanya Math.

He was addressing a religious meet held on the concluding day of Brahmakalashotsava of Shree Suryanarayana Temple, Maroli here on Monday, April 25.

Orator Chakravarthi Sulibele addressed the gathering on ‘Nation and Dharma’ on the occasion.

Speaking on the concept of Rajayoga of Swami Vivekananda and 'Tat Tvam Asi', Sulibele said, "Instead of understanding others, we should look within and understand ourselves first. When you understand yourself, it will be ultimate revelation which will lead to happiness. The concept of temple is really beautiful. The temple is a centre of peace.

"Creating a society which accepts everyone without any discrimination is the 'Rashtra Dharma'. If we keep people out from the temple for various reasons, then there will be no existence of god in that particular temple. We have failed to provide proper religious knowledge to our children," he said.

Lakshmi Narayana Asranna,  MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Balakrishna Kottary, M B Puranik, and Chitaranjan, president of Garodi Temple, Kankanady and others were present.

Brahmakalashotsava for the deity was held during the day. In the afternoon, Mahannasantharpane for the devotees was arranged.
