Mangaluru, Apr 29: For the first time in the history of Mangaluru, Globe travels has made it possible for the representatives of the consulate of United Kingdom to come down to Mangaluru for the interview of visa aspirants, which will be held on May 2.
Before the recent opening of the consulate office at Bengaluru, all visa applicants of the United Kingdom were required to travel to Chennai to submit the visa applications and supporting documents. For the last few years, the office has been in Bengaluru but the general public from Mangaluru were finding it difficult to travel to Chennai or Bengaluru to submit the visa application with the supporting documents and then to stay overnight for the biometrics at consulate representative office, VFS Global Services Pvt Ltd.
Globe travels being a pioneer in travel and tourism in Mangaluru, having associate offices all over India and its own branches in Canada and the USA, has requested the consulate of the United Kingdom to come down to Mangaluru to accept the visa applications of the general public and to take the biometrics. It is heartening to learn that the consulate of the United Kingdom, understanding the long standing of Globe travels in the field of travel and as promoters of tourism to various countries especially Canada, the USA, the United Kingdom and Europe, has permitted its representative, VFS Global Services Pvt Ltd, to come down to Mangaluru to accept the visa applications and to take the biometrics on May 2 at Globe travels, Mangaluru. VFS Global Services Pvt Ltd, has been representing the consulate of the United Kingdom and many other consulates in India and abroad.
In the past Globe travels has been instrumental in getting the international flights operation from Mangaluru with the Builders' Association under the leadership of Subbayya Shetty. Both Shetty and D’ Souza of Globe travels have toiled to collect the money from businessmen to build the international terminal to enable the international flights operation at the old Bajpe airport. Subbayya Shetty personally supervised the old international terminal to speed up the process of international operations of flights and build it within a record time of 15 days. This led to daily operation of many international flights to Middle East from Mangaluru. This has even brought countries like USA, Canada, Europe and Australia closer to Mangaluru since there are now convenient flights from Mangaluru connecting to these countries.
