Riyadh: Abdul Azeez Bajpe elected president of DKMO

Riyadh, Apr 30: The DKMO (Dakshina Karnataka Muslim Okkoota), here, conducted its annual general body meeting on April 8, at the Maqsoura conference hall of East Ramada Hotel in the city - KSA.








The meeting was well attended by over 100 members, who represented most of the taluks of south Karnataka
DKMO. Riyadh since its existence has been in the forefront towards the support of community members in time of need. DKMO has been working hard on their unique programme FRF (Family Relief Fund) scheme. So far, DKMO has donated seven such cases each with an average of 1.5 lac to the family of the deceased member back home.

Over the years DKMO also provided air tickets to repatriate ailing brothers who could not afford to pay for them. DKMO has also funded a library, print media, patients at government hospitals back home, supported poor students for their education, contributed to more than 25 relief  works. Under its new anti dowry project it has contributed to mass marriages and has arranged some anti dowry awareness programmes back home. DKMO also contributed and strived to collect funds for the release of an imprisoned brother in Saudi Arabia. DKMO very proudly announces that it has contributed towards pursuance of higher education of a lady doctor.

The meeting  commenced immediately after the Friday prayers, with the recitation of a few verses of the Holy Quran by Dawood Kajemar.

Basheer Thalapady welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude to all the DKMO life members, office bearers, sponsors, well wishers and briefed the audience about the achievements of DKMO since its inception. Abdulazeez Bajpe President DKMO, Fazlurahman Kolkar general secretary, Abbas Uchil treasurer were then welcomed onto the dais with the chief guest Akhtar Sheikh the former Ameer of Jamaithul Falah and Parvez Ali President KMYA Riyadh.

Gen Secretary Fazlurahman presented a comprehensive report on the activities of DKMO during the year 2015-16 with a slide show. This included the reports on the DKMO’s  special charity programmes like family relief fund, medical aid, loan scheme and  education aid to  the members and their families  back home. It has also provided a detailed presentation regarding the new project- the anti dowry campaign which is the new social programme by DKMO.

Treasurer Abbas Uchil gave a detailed presentation of the annual financial report for the year 2015 – 16, and got the approval from the members. Then financial statement was approved with the applause of 'Allahu Akbar'.

Chief guest Akhtar Shaikh advised the gathering to work together for the benefit of the community and requested all its members to continue their kind support and co-operation. He also encouraged that all members must try their level best to attend all meetings and give their suggestions to maintain a strong bond between them so that any goal can be achieved easily. Another chief guest Parvez Ali urged to serve the poor and needy. He further said that they were lucky to have this opportunity and a great platform like DKMO to serve the community. DKMO is one of the best organizations for the NRIs which will definitely reward them in this world and the world thereafter. He urged all the youngsters to join and support DKMO to carry forward the noble mission. Resident Abdulazeez Bajpe  then dissolved the existing committee with a brief address and he thanked the members and committee for their support during his tenure.

Shafi Thodar and Elyas Yermal were felicitated with Certificate of Appreciation for enrolling highest life members for DKMO in the year 2015-2016.

Althar Sheikh and Pervez Ali conducted the elections for the year 2016 – 17. Members were asked to join the new committee voluntarily and support it in carrying out the noble tasks. With a lot of interest 37 members joined the new committee. The office bearers for the new committee were elected unanimously and the list is as follows:

Abdul Azeez Bajpe as President, Eilyas Yermal and G K Sheikh as vice presidents, Fazalur Rahman Kolkar as general secretary, Ismail Montepadav and Haneef N S Secretaries, Abbas Uchil as treasurer, Abdulhameed Sullia as joint treasurer, Shafi Thodar as membership  coordinator, Asif Kannur as FRF  coordinator, Basheer Thalapady as anti dowry coordinator, Salman Noor as relief coordinator, Rahman Sulaiman Euromarche as loan coordinator, Mohammad Imran as auditor, Yousuf Saqafi Baitar and Ismail Shafi Vittal as advisors, Ghani Ahmed Mulky, Yusuf Kalanjibail, Abbas Maani, Dawood Kajemar, Hyder Saralikatte,  Ibrahim Bengila, Shamsudeen Addoor, Mohammad Ali Jokatte, Usman Kaikamba, Hameed Nazeer Kulur, Mohammad Asif Jokatte, Abdulsalam Moulana, Mohammad Ashraf Koteshwar, Azeez Moidin, Abdulhameed, Ashraf Kozhikan, Ashraf Kozhikan, Irshad Bajpe, Sarfaraz Padubidri, Abdulazeez Katipalla as working committee members.

Fazalurahaman Kolkal concluded the programme and thanked all the attendees and executive committee members of DKMO Riyadh for extending their support. The programme ended with the Swalath. Soon after the Swalath all the members enjoyed their lunch in the dining hall.
