Sudanese students ram doc's car, 'assault and rob' him in Mysuru

Mysuru, May 2 (DHNS): Three Sudanese students, including two girls, were detained and let off after a doctor complained they assaulted him on Saturday night. The students lodged a counter complaint, alleging abuse by the doctor.

The police identified the students as Jeena, Donna and Godan, while the identity of another student, who fled the spot, is yet to be known. While Jeena and Godan are studying law at JSS College, Donna is a BCom student at JSS Women’s College.

A police source narrated the sequence of events.

A Ford Ikon car with Godan at the wheel reportedly dashed the car driven by Dr Karthik Udupa near JSS Hospital on MG Road. Udupa, a doctor at Vatsalya Nursing Home (formerly Seetaranga Hospital) and his wife, were returning home from the Mall of Mysore around 8.40 pm when the incident occurred. The doctor shoved the students’ car in retaliation and stopped them yards from the KR station. When he confronted them, one of them reportedly punched him in the left eye. A crowd gathered soon and took the students to task. One of them fled the spot.

Udupa’s version of the incident differed slightly. He said that besides dashing and overtaking his car, the students also stopped him and snatched his gold chain.

The police have booked the students for rash driving and robbery. Following the students’ complaint, the police booked the doctor for abusing the girls and attempting to assault them.

Based on the doctor’s complaint, the police subjected the students to a medical test to ascertain if they were drunk when the incident occurred. The report is awaited. Both the parties have been summoned to the police station for questioning on Monday.

Now Arnab Goswami will shout from the bottom of his guts that Karnataka people are racist.
So send all these Sudanese to the house of Arnab goswami where he can look after them for 2-3 months and experience the real character of these Sudanese Kenyan and Nigerian people in Bengaluru.

All humans are racists deep down. Racism stems from prejudices and can take shape via collective agreement.

The problem is our law and order. If any one break the law- send them back. That does not mean rest who are law abiding are bad international students. Just suggesting all Sudanese Nigerians are bad - in itself is racism. Take it or leave it.

Its a globalized world and in this situation more Indians are in different countries than ever before. Now for this saying we Indians are better than others is also a form of racism.

In India we have it in the form of religions ( Namma sankrathi is better) casts and economic divide.

    Cheers!

The law and order is not existent like the CM of course. Who is almost of the verge of being booted out by his own party. It wont be a surprise one day if these 'foreigners' are beaten up by the locals.

This incidence and others like it -indicate that the foreign students are not subjected to a mandatory course on do's and dont's of after getting into a law and order situation.

Just based on the information given here, I can say that there was an initial accident. Following this the doctor retaliated( This needs to be substantiated ). After this there was scuffle. Rest is unclear and goes according to who is telling who.

If the above information is true that means the doctor should get civic/ public service ( unpaid) as a punishment for retaliation( first act was an accident whereas second was not).

The students( foreign nationals) should also be subjected to penalties for not calling the police and taking the matter in their own hands. One should understand that law and justice to be same for a doctor or a student- if you break the law then appropriate punishment to be given in a just manner.

It is incorrect to generalize and stereo type students from African continents as equally bad. When there is effective enforcement of law and order and justice- this question does not arise. What is then BAD? is our LAW and order and JUSTICE? ( enforcement).

STUDENTS DASHED THE CAR TO LOOT THE DOCTOR AND HIS WIFE AND FAILED.
LUCKILY DOCTOR AVOIDED THE ACCIDENT WITH HIS DRIVING SKILL AND TRIED TO STOP THE FLEEING STUDENTS.
BUT STUDENTS RETALIATED AND ONE OF THEM FLED FROM THE SCENE IS VERY CLEAR EVIDENCE THAT THEY WERE WRONG AND TRIED TO SAVE THEMSELVES.
GETTING TO KNOW DOCTOR HAS GIVEN POLICE COMPLAINT STUDENTS TRIED TO BE OVER SMART WITH COUNTER POLICE COMPLAINT ON DOCTOR.
HERE MEDICAL TEST REPORT OF STUDENTS ARE OF LEAST SIGNIFICANCE BECAUSE A DOCTOR WITH FAMILY WAS TARGETTED TO LOOT IS VERY CLEAR.
SECONDLY LLB STUDENTS HAVING KNOWLEDGE OF LEGAL PROCEDURES TRIED TO DRAG THE CASE WITH COUNTER COMPLAINT.
IT IS LOGIC THAT FIRST COMPLAINT WILL BE LIKE FIR AND THE SECOND / COUNTER COMPLAINT WILL BE FOR THE SAKE OF SELF DEFENSE.
THE STUDENTS NEED NOT BE LOOKED AS SUDANESE OR FOREIGNERS AND BE PUNISHED WITH ALL SERIOUSNESS IT DESERVES WITHOUT CREATING ANY PRECEDENCE OTHERWISE TERRORISTS WILL ALSO FOLLOW THE SAME PATH.

Its because our Government is weak and is not able to take action against these illegally residing people. What happened to that case in Bangalore where girl was stripped... These are taking law for granted. And we ourselves are to be blamed.

    Jaimini,

Generalizing can be done with our students too, who go to other countries to study. Why does it come out only when an incident/accident happens ? Our country has welcomed them to study in our institutions, we must respect the decision and put up with them. Else, stop both way traffic - is it possible ? (No student form India goes out, nobody outsider comes to India to study)
