Vijayapura, May 2: A group of youth who went for swimming in a tank at National Thermal Power Corporation's (NTPC) power plant in Kudagi near here was given inhuman treatment by the security man on Saturday, April 30.

A video being circulated in WhatsApp has been watched by many people and they have been criticizing about the treatment meted out to the youth.

As per the details, the youths were swimming in the tank when security men spotted them. The security men told the youth to come out from the tank. Then a security man asked a youth to do 40 push-ups. A security man is even seen putting his leg on the youth in the video. Some unidentified people are heard making fun of the youth in the video clip. The video is of 75 seconds duration.

Locals have expressed their anger at the management of the power unit run by NTPC. The management has not responded about the incident so far.

In case the youths those who swim in the tank dies then everybody will blame the security guard. If they try to protect the life of youths they unnecessarily blame them. But the punishment seems to be inhuman. Why the security has gone out of the way. His job is just drive them out or report to the police.

40 push ups is okay. Though it seems to inhumane it is still better than giving him a beating.

Kokeri, people are wise. When it comes to politics and religion, emotions run high, brain goes dormant. Let the stories run without communal or religious flavor, we shall certainly notice impartiality and wisdom.

The security person looks like CISF commando. In army it is common trainees are treated like this to make them complete the task fully, even in NCC camps trainers used to put their foot on back until we complete all push ups.

This is the kind of training and discipline all male youths need

its an era where youth look direction less and taking everything light. It's security issue and security guy has the right to punish these people. If it's known that it's a private plant tank and they have gone for swimming they deserve to be punished. if it was unknown to them and they have gone swimming there by mistake, then also you will be bound for the punishment for your mistake. Let's not make a big mess of this. than seeing what happened after the mistake... let's think why this mistake happened... please don't make a mess of this nothing.

As usual our respected citizens condemn the security action rather than controlling their children. Be it fun or serious but some time punishment is required because we got too much freedom in India and most of the time we don’t control ourselves too!!!!

This kind of punishment required for careless people.

These security men would have been blamed if something went wrong to those guys while swimming.
