Mangaluru, May 2: The police have arrested three persons in connection to four recent cases of assault in the limits of Ullal police.

This was revealed by police commissioner Chandra Sekhar in a press meet at his office here on Monday May 2.

The arrested are Rahul Poojary (22), a resident of Mogaveerapatna and fisherman by profession, auto driver Prajwal alias Hemachandra (21), a resident of Amblamogaru, and Vineeth (22), a resident of Thokkottu who is into fabrication work.

Based on a tip-off, the CCB police arrested the three near Pachanady, Vamanjoor.

They were arrested in connection to the assault on Lathif and Saleem at Kodi on April 14, assault on Ibrahim Nafsan on April 25 at Kodi, attempt to murder Safwan, Nizam and Saleem the same night (among whom Safwan died later), and attack on Safwan Hasan at Kallapu Patna on April 26, and other cases.

Rahul Poojary is the prime accused in all the four cases, and already faces charges in five other cases, all of them attempts-to-murder under Ullal police limits, one under Mangaluru rural limits and another Mangaluru north limits.

Prajwal too is an accused in two attempts-to-murder cases, under Ullal and Mangaluru south police limits.

Prajwal and Vineeth were directly involved in the attack on Safwan at Kallapu Patna on April 26.

With this, the total number of arrests in the recent Ullal attacks has gone up to eight.

The police commissioner also reiterated that those who attack innocents would not be spared.

CCB inspector Valentine D'Souza led the arrest operation, assisted by PSI Shyamsunder and other personnel.

This is purely a matter of vote bank. Even police force is forced by Politicians to presusurize to catch the innocent people. What about the murderers of Raju Kotian & flower Vendor. Let's wait and see how many innocents they will catch.

Appreciate the work by the cops. I guess there was lot of pressure from the political leadership or 'sachivas' to arrest Sawfan's murderers as it falls in the agenda of appeasement. BTW what happened to the murderers of Raju Kotian? Why are the 'sachivas' adn cops silent? File closed due to lack of evidence or witness?

If you people know everthing..why forcing for investigation. Let our police force engage in any good cause. First of you people do not have trust in administration. Waste of money n time.

Ok.. Cool...Great Job!!! How about the people who murdered Raju Kotian??? Are you planning to arrest them or just close everything with these arrested people??? The arrested people who killed Safwan and injured others should be severely punished but also please make sure that truth comes out in case of Raju Kotians murder too... When the police could arrest the latters murderers why is it not able to arrest the earlier murderers.
