Mangaluru, May 2: Members of the various organizations under the banner 'Federation of Patriotic Associations' along with the family of Vinayak Baliga staged a solidarity march from Vinayak Baliga's house near PVS Kalakunj to police commissioner's office in city on Monday, May 2.
Deceased Baliga's father Ganesh Baliga handed over the Indian flag to rationalist Prof Narendra Nayak and launched the march. The march later halted in front of Venkataramana temple where Narendra Nayak addressed the gathered.
Nayak said "Shame on Mangaluru police. You know where Dawood Ibrahim is and you also know the whereabouts of other underworld dons. But you do not know where Naresh Shenoy is. Recently he had filed an application for the anticipatory bail and you could not arrest him."
"If anyone has slapped some cases against you challenge him in the court and not kill him. We all need to question the government that which are the hidden powers behind the murder. Until the conspirers get arrested the truth cannot be revealed. But since a month the justice has been denied and delayed. We will not deter from the protests until we get the justice. Today it is in Mangaluru, it will be in front of the town hall in Bengaluru on May 6 and in the coming days we will also stage a protest in New Delhi,” Nayak added.
"Baliga always worked for the GSB community. Still there are only few people who have joined us. It is the question of human's life. He was on his way to the temple when he was murdered. He did not reach the temple but we have come to the temple on behalf of him. I address all the ones hiding in their houses to come and join us." Nayak concluded.
Baliga's sister Usha Shenoy said "Since childhood we always believed that Venkataramana God is the one who fulfills the desires of the devotees. Dear God you are our saviour and you must give justice to us."
Baliga's other sister Anuradha Baliga said "Some people still say that he asked for money but he never did that. God please give us justice. Motivate people to arrest the murders of Vinayak."
DYFI state president Muneer Katipalla, president of Nagarika Seva Trust Somanatha Nayak, corporator Dayanand Shetty, Baliga's sister Sheetal and others were present.
