Mangaluru: Scientist who turned destitute rescued by Snehalaya

Mangaluru, May 3: Life might not have changed much for most people in the past two months, but it surely has for Rajesh Narayan Agale whose destiny took a turn after Snehalaya found him lying on the street near Kankanady here.

Approximately two months ago, Joseph Crasta, founder of Snehalaya Charitable Trust, got a series of calls for about a week informing him about the deteriorating state of a man lying on the street near Kankanady and asking his help. When Joseph finally reached the place, he found Rajesh in a very ill state. Joseph immediately rushed him to Yenepoya hospital and soon Rajesh began to regain health.

When asked about his whereabouts, Rajesh revealed that he was the founder and director of Mission Avishkar Science Centre based at Kolhapur, Aurangabad and Goa and that he was a scientist from Aurangabad, Maharashtra. He claimed to have worked with the late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, and also gave his residential address. He has two sisters and a brother, all of whom are married.

In fact, Dr Kalam had even visited his Mission Avishkar Centre in February 2010 and interacted with children and staff.

When contacted, his family confirmed the same. He had lost his laptop which contained some important data and hence was very depressed. He said he could not recall how he landed up in Managaluru, in this state.

Joseph then took him to Snehalaya, and now, after proper treatment and care Rajesh has recovered by almost 70%. Apparently, he has been missing for the past one year and his family has been searching for him. Now, thanks to Snehalaya, he will soon reunite with his family members who are coming to take him back to his hometown in Aurangabad.

Snehalaya Charitable Trust, which runs Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre, is a non-governmental organization founded on August 26, 2009 by Joseph Crasta. It provides shelter and cure for the mentally ill, ailing, and destitutes who are left abandoned on the streets and then reunites them with their families. Founded with the mission to look after the neglected in the society, the inmates here treated with love and care and given a new lease of life.

Time and again, Snehalaya has taken up the initiative to provide a safe harbour for destitutes. It has been a hope for people like Rajesh, and his family is ever grateful to them. Let's us support such organizations who are doing their part to make this place a much better one.

What the government agencies cannot do a simple layman called Joseph (self-less, extraordinary, visionary, humanitarian, sympathetic a superb human being) who is engaged in rendering help and service to the needy & discarded destitute in the society. Our MLA, DC and politicians should recognize this man and mission and should plead with the government to extend full financial support to 'Snehalaya Charitable Trust' to grow wider and bigger to great heights.
God bless all those who work for genuine cause.
I could not believe my own eyes watching the first picture and the third photo!

    Life's bends and turns....

Lucky this scientist had Snehalaya in his fate.

While this is yet another proof of the humanitarian works done by Snehalaya it certainly gives all of us an opportunity to introspect on how and where one can end up no matter how high and mighty we may seem to be.

Heart felt sympathy for this scientist. Stay strong dear scientist.
Missing near and dear ones or financial trouble would lead to these kind of problems. If he has some enemies or competitors then they could have performed some magic due to jealousy. Eat and sleep well and do regular exercise.
