Dubai: Community Spirit Rules at Decennial Celebrations of Billawa Balaga

Dubai, Oct 19: Billawa Balaga - Dubai celebrated the joyous 10th anniversary under the leadership of the current conveners – Raghuram Suvarna, Chandrasheker M and Harish Amin in Hotel Deira Sheraton on Friday, October 19.
The mega event turned into a mega cine cultural musical extravaganza and with the colourful events from children group dances to solo performances, orchestra and a live show by Jr Raj Kumar - Jagadish Shivapura - who was specially flown in from India as the event was dedicated as a tribute to the late Dr Raj Kumar.
Keeping with the Mangalorean tradition, Yakshagana presented by Chidanand Poojary and troupe of Yakshamitra received tremendous applause from the audience. Abu Dhabi Billavas and a stage-play by the Northern Emirates team, directed by Paramanand Salian who came all the way from India exclusively for this event, was presented during the event.
The entire event management and co-ordination was handled by Ashok Anchan who is the event management secretary of Billawa Balaga Dubai and was supported by all members.
Ten prominent guests at the event were, NRI entrepreneur B R Shetty, Suresh S Poojary, Naveenchandra Suvarna, Babu Shiv Poojary, N T Poojary, Sumalata N Suvarna, Santosh Poojary, Padmanada Salian, Susir Kumar M, K Jaya Chandra and artiste Jagadish Shivapura.
The Women's wing of Billawa Balaga was inaugurated during the event. Suresh Poojary inaugurated the wing and made a spontaneous, spot donation of Dhs 25,000. Ashwini Salian and Rupa Sanil compered the event.
