2 live bullets found with passenger at Mangaluru airport

Mangaluru, May 4: A person was arrested for carrying 2 live bullets in his baggage at Mangaluru airport on Monday, May 2.

John Fernandes is the person arrested. He had arrived at the airport to travel to Mumbai in a scheduled Jet Airways flight.

When the security personnel at the airport checked John Fernandes’ baggage after X ray screening, 2 live bullets were found. Jet Airways officials brought the matter to the notice of the airport authority and police. John was arrested immediately. He was later produced in court and the police have secured his custody.

John was supposed to fly to Israel from Mumbai.

A case stands registered at Bajpe police station.
