Fun time for children- Malpe beach to host ‘Jalotsava’ on May 7, 8

Udupi, May 6: Malpe development committee, in association with Karnataka tourism department, will host two-day Malpe beach ‘Jalotsav 2016’ on Saturday May 7 and 8 at Malpe beach.

The programme will provide fun time for children who have started their summer vocation. The beach committee chaired by deputy commissioner R Vishal, has planned various sports to attract tourists during these two days.

There will be various sports events organized by the committee such as surfing, kayaking, Stand up paddle (SUP), speed boat, banana ride, St Mary’s boat, parasailing, ATV, amusement and rock climbing.

For food lovers, special food courts will be arranged. Dhabas, fast food, local food, cafes, and sea food will be special attraction.

On May 7 evening, couple show ‘Adarsha Dampati’ will be hosted by Jaycee Manipal. The winner couple will get Rs 4,000 and runners up will get Rs 2,000.

There will be folklore performance by five different groups on the occasion.

On Sunday, May 8, ‘Mass Yoga’ will be conducted in the morning by Tanmay Goswami. It is open for all locals as well as tourists.

On the same day, swimming competition for especially abled persons (above and below 20 years) will be held. The first prize winner will get Rs 3,000 and runners up will be awarded Rs 2,000.

On May 8, throwball matches will be organized for women from 9 am onwards. The winning team will get Rs 10,000 and runners up will be awarded Rs 5,000. The winners of Tug of War (below 20 years) will bag Rs 20,000 and runner up will bag Rs 10,000.

Sand sculpture competition will be organized for sand artistes on the same day. The first three places will be awarded Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 respectively.
On the second evening from 4.45 pm to 6.15 pm, there is entertainment programmes. A live music concert will be held where singing champions from ZEE, ETV, Colours, Udaya Tv will participate.

After this, there is 'Indian Act' by eastern group, Mangaluru, winners from ‘India got talent’ and a dance performance from Bhargavi Art and Dance academy will rock the platform.

The Malpe development committee is all set to welcome people for the beach ‘Jalotsava’ in association with Karnataka tourism department with the motto of ‘My beach, clean beach, Malpe beach’.

Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj will inaugurate the programme. DC R Vishal, Vinay Kumar Sorake, district in charge minister, SP K Annamalai, Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje, president and Sandhya, vice president of CMC, Udupi, Yashpal Suvarna, president, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi fisheries federation, councillors Prashant Amin, Narayan Kundar, Vijay Kundar, Harmis Neronha and others will be present.

D C R Vishal, D Manjunathaiah, CMC commissioner, Sudesh Shetty, organizer of beach and Island will also work together for the programme.

    Very good move and hope the arrangements will be done properly so all can enjoy their choice of sport and food on a day out at the "fantastic" Malpe beach.

    Very good cultural fest at Malpe organised by the Congress Party. I still cant forget the rave party organised by the BJP party few years ago at Malpe. Congress is trying its best to bring back the glory of Malpe after the Rave party of BJPEEEE...
