Mangalore, Oct 21: The installation of new office-bearers of 'Bunts' Matru Sangha'  (parent association of Dakshina Kannada) was held at a function organized in Sri Ramakrishna College auditorium located at Bunts Hostel in the city on Sunday, October 20.

Assuming the presidentship of parent association, former Moodbidri MLA and erstwhile state minister Amaranath Shetty Kodman said that many social welfare programmes would be taken up as part of centenary celebrations of the association. Moreover, he advised the members of association not to resort to blamimg other communities, but, instead, focus on progress of the Bunt community at large.
 
The progress of the poor and needy among the community should take priority while chalking out the development programmes, he added. 

The Amaranath Shetty couple was felicitated by the community elders during the function. K Ajit Kumar Rai Malady presided over the function and Jayapal Shetty was the chief guest present on the occasion.
 
Jayashree Amaranath Shetty, Jayakar Shetty Indrali and others were present on the dais. Sunder Shetty M, honorary secretary of association, welcomed the gathering and Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli compered the programme.
