Moms of Mangalore celebrate Mother's Day in grand way

Media release

Mangaluru, May 9: Every Mother has a special place in the heart of her children. She is special for a reason. She faces all hardships to protect them and give the best to them. While every day is special with a mother in one's life, Mother's day is one such day, when we pull out all stops to show her what she means to us.

Super MOM

Moms of Mangalore (MOM), an online social group of close to 14,000 mothers of the region took this opportunity to do their little bit on this day to commemorate this special person in everyone’s life. MOM, along with all the well-wishing sponsors, came together to host a special evening at City Centre Mall in Mangaluru. The enthusiastic crowd participated in various activities such as free nail art, Mehendi art and professional Photo shoot and Photo booth, which were all free of cost to the mothers by the sponsors. The event was hosted by RJ Anuragh. The highlight of this event was the Babyoye Super Mommy 2016 contest.

Initially, a judging round of online photos was held. There were more than 85 participants and the final 20 participants were screened and shortlisted, being 10 by the number of votes that each contestant received and the remaining 10 by a committee of judges. The shortlisted mothers were then invited to walk the ramp with their little ones wearing colour co-ordinated outfits in the first round of the show. From this group, 10 contestants were further shortlisted for the Q & A round where a question on motherhood was posed to each of them and based on the answers the final 5 were selected and given a fun game to play.

Namratha Lobo emerged the winner of the Babyoye Super Mommy 2016 title, while Sahana Jathanna was crowned first runners up and Joy Christine Johnson the second runner up. There was also a special prize for the Best Dressed Mommy which was taken by Jugnu Bhatt.

Dr Vidyashree Kamath, a consultant OBG and Laparoscopic surgeon and Mercy D'Souza from Mercy spa were the judges for the grand finale.

The title sponsor for the event was Babyoye while the co sponsors were Toybazaar, Work from home Divas India, Pinto & Pinto Advocates & Solicitors, Tasty bite culinary studio, Anirvedha behavioural assessment therapy centre, Nithesh Kalnad Photography, Heaven Rose professional salon, Mercy Spa and Health Plus Centre.

While a plethora of likeminded people came together to make this possible, the main stars of the event and of the Group are the mothers of MOM, whose support and participation defined the success of the event. As MOM intends to get involved into more social responsibilities in the region, while supporting each other through the various services it renders through its online page, mothers are encouraged to join this group and make use of the opportunities and also make a small effort to make a difference in the lives of other mothers.

Daijiworld was the media partner of the event.

It's nice to observe that the Mothers Day was celebrated in a grand scale in Mangalore. Mothers deserve the best, and so also enable the kids to witness the joy of their mothers Day from the very inception.

Also, please remember, the Father's Day is not far off, and the Fathers too deserve equal recognition and support same as the Mothers.

Family values have always been the hallmark of Indian culture. In spite of all the consequences that are attached to our ever-growing population in India, one thing that holds the nation together with our democracy and the secular values is the "Family Togetherness" attached with our respect for each Religion and the traditions and rituals that are attached to it.

Keep up the good work. Mangalore is already on the world map, and the Mothers will enhance our values even further for all the power of love and affection that each Mother possesses towards their families and friends. God bless all the Mothers.

Without a father a mother can not become a mother. So both father and mother are equal in all respects and should respect each other.
