Kasargod, May 12: The dead body of Thrissur based housewife missing during train travel has been found near railway tracks at Barkur near Udupi on Thursday, May 12.

The deceased is Ajitha (40) from Chelakkara in Thrissur. The dead body was found in a bush a little away from the railway tracks. Police said that the body has serious injuries on the head. The deceased's shawl was found around her neck.

She had been missing from Sunday while she was travelling from Mumbai with her husband and children to Thrissur by Mangala express.

The locals who saw the dead body immediately informed the police.

Police arrived and conducted inquest. The relatives of Ajitha who were informed, are on the way to Udupi.

The family of the deceased has been staying in Badalpur East, Thane for the last twenty years. They were on their way to their home town on vacation and had boarded the train at Kalyan near Mumbai. They had slept at Madgaon, Goa at night after eating. The husband and the children came to know that Ajitha was missing after they reached at Payyanur on Monday morning. Her bag, mobile and other items were on the seat. Preliminary investigation by the police has revealed that the injury to the head had caused the death.

Police have said that further investigation is in progress.

    The investigation will be quite diffcult.Police will have to search for and question te passengers who were in that coach , as to whether she was seen going to the toilet . she might have been attacked and pushed out when she resisted. Hope the Police take up the investigation quite seriously
