Mangaluru, May 14: While the people in the city are facing severe water crisis even for drinking purpose, plenty of water is seen being wasted near Alape, Padil, after the main water pipeline got damaged. It is reported that though the locals have approached the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) over the issue for many days, there were no positive response to repair the water pipe.

A local resident, who did not want to be named, speaking to Daijiworld said “Plenty of water has been wasted after a main pipeline got damaged here. People have no water to drink in many places in the city. We buy water from tankers. But it pains to note that plenty of drinking water goes wasted due to negligence of concerned authority.”

As the damaged pipeline is the main one, if repaired immediately, lot of water can be saved.

Speaking to Daijiworld, mayor Harinath said "I will ask to take necessary step."

Daijiworld also tried to contact the local corporator but he did not take the phone.
