Karkala, May 16: Newly created Sri Siddhivinayaka Layout at Kukkundoor here, located near Kukkundoor Goddess Durgaparameshwari temple road, which has been equipped with all basic facilities, was dedicated to the world at a function held on Sunday May 15.
Local MLA and chief whip of the opposition in the assembly, V Sunil Kumar, initiated the function by planting a sapling. Speaking on the occasion, he noted that the town has been developing fast, and as such, is in need of such layouts. He asked even people from middle class to make use of this opportunity.
MLC, Kota Srinivas Poojary, who inaugurated the meeting programme, said that housing sites provide a way for the rural populace to realize their dreams of owning houses. He said that mainly people from middle class like such layouts. He wished that this layout will earn a niche for itself in the coming days.
Veteran industrialist, Bola prabhakar Kamath, zilla panchayat president, Dinkar, taluk panchayat president, Malini Shetty, zilla panchayat member, Sumit Shetty, president of Kukkundoor gram panchayat, Sumana Rao, former president, Antony D'Souza, Uday Kumar Shetty Udupi, Vimala Shetty, and Pragati Uday Kumar Shetty were among the dignitaries who graced the occasion.
Uday Kumar Shetty announced that a ten percent discount would be given for those who buy sites between May 15 and 25, apart from a sovereign of gold to each one of them.
