Udupi, May 18: A man, with least respect for law, has dug and destroyed public road with JCB on Tuesday, May 17. The road has become the victim in the family dispute.

The incident occurred near Chandu Maidan, Mission compound, Kinnimulki ward here.

Joseph Siri and Joy Siri couple had adopted a boy named Ravi. As Ravi grew up he got a land measuring 47 cents signed by the couple in his favour. Ravi had died when he was 28 years old. His wife Naina married a man named Vijay James after his death. They have both fought for the property allegedly fraudulently transferred by Ravi in his name while alive. When the fights got severe, Vijaya James dug the public approach road that was the cause of dispute, with JCB during broad daylight.
Haidi, the daughter of Joseph Siri had got a court stay order from the court but Vijaya James has ignored it.

The road was developed by the municipal council with tar and street lights during the last thirty years. It was the approach road to the houses of nine families; one wood saw mill and a Kitchen center.

The revenue official who had come for survey had not informed about the developments to the municipal council which has angered the council president. When Joseph and Joy Siri family tried to stop Vijay James, he tried to kill them with the JCB. Nobody came to their rescue in the initial stage. In the end the local people waylaid Vijay James who got scared and later fled with his gundas.

Local councillor Amritha Krishnamurthy and municipal commissioner have expressed shock at the incident. A case stands registered at Udupi town police station.

    Lydia,

I assume you have done a survey about it.. so u tell the readers about it :).. as you are more keen to know about her sources of Income and you have already calculated it... To be precise my comments right from the beginning is we cannot point anybody wrong and say bad about them... and the court is there to look after it which we should not forget.

I have been a witness to this case from past 1 Year and the story goes like this….from past 14 years Naina (and her daughter) have been fighting for their right to get a share or a piece of land which is their right. But she was been ignored and all the property and its rent from commercial shops is been enjoyed by Heidi and her family.
Now Naina goes to court and fights for Justice. In the Year 2015 the High Court grants 47cents land to Naina and her daughter. As of today the RTC is on Naina’s name but she has no possession of the land or rents. Meanwhile the tenants on the property are enjoying because they are paying much less rent to Heidi. So they are happy with the old owner.
Now destroying the road doesn’t help anybody. But to get the attention from the authorities it was needed step. And please mind the tar road is within the 47cents which Naina received rightfully from the court.
Tomorrow when Naina gets possession of the land and shops on the property she will surely need that road and she will rebuild it.

And common the tar road was granted to the muncipal as they have built it and provided lughts. So u cant tell the tar road belongs to them. And the measurement done by them exceeds 47 cents which was forcefully done.

    Hey Albert,

Thank you for being a witness for this matter and talking about it in detail which clearly highlights of what the Lady (Naina) faced / has gone through before getting her share..
I totally agree to this verse which you have mentioned “When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to the evildoers” Prov 21:15

I think people don't have right to say ban him, uncultured animal etc.

Ravi and Naina had a baby girl and she fought for this property for her girl, after fighting for 14 years she got the possession.
Do people know this. Unnecessarily jumping into a conclusion.

Why do the society speak or react to this topic before knowing the A, B, C of it...

    Joshna,

"As Ravi grew up he got a land measuring 47 cents signed by the couple in his favour"

Here, the 'couple' apparently, are the adoptive parents. What more is his widow fighting for ? As she has a daughter, so do the adoptive parents.

What is Vijay James' role here ? Does he have any responsibility towards his wife or is he here to help her grab further land from her in-laws ? What does she wish ? They hand over entire property to her and shift into an old-age home ? She doesn't exhibit any hopes that they will be looked after by her !

In the name of her daughter they will take the property. They may construct complex and might throw her in the road. That time will u adopt that girl and look after her? The property might go to them. But the road belongs to everyone. The victims family also have a baby girl of same age of 14. The road belongs to the public. If theanyone steals your road to your will u tell keep the road for your daughter? Even u have daughters. Will you throw away your children for other children just for road? Think before commenting anything

    Joshna,

You didn't tell the readers about the property share Ms. Naina received from her parents ? What about Vijay ? He isn't orphan - is he ? Combined, they should be having shares in three properties (including that of Ravi).

Don't you think they are bit too much in troubling the old Siri duo ?

No wonder people go for adoption of children but prefer girls. So that the girl will be given in marriage and a feeling of fulfilment in life remains.

See here, a couple with a daughter, adopted a son. Don't know which was first but they did not mistreat him, gave him a land to live his life. See the second version of the events - widow of the adopted son remarries and that man tries to grab the lad of the adopted couple. could this be the motive behind marrying a widow ?

    Greed has no end !
