Poll results are mandate for Modi regime, irrelevancy of Cong- Ananth Kumar

Bengaluru, May 19: The electoral verdict in the five State Assembly elections, including the spectacular victory of BJP and allies in Assam, indicates the popular mandate of the people for the Narendra Modi regime, said Union Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister Ananth Kumar on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters, the senior BJP leader said the BJP was ruling in nine States.

The votes secured by BJP in all the elections in the last two years have steadily increased showing the people’s mandate for the Modi regime, he said.

He said BJP has increased its voting percentage in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry and made historical gains in Kerala by opening its account by winning a single seat.

The BJP leader said the results in the five States as well as those held after the 2014 lok sabha polls have proved the increasing irrelevance of Congress party, which is being rejected by the people for its misrule and corruption scandals.

"It is not just the Congress but all the political parties, which aligned with the Congress party are being rejected by the people and BJP is gaining the people’s support across the country," he added.

Anti incumbancy in Assam after 15 years of congress rule by Chief Minister Gogai is understandable. The results have been best summed up by Jeevan Shetty and Sampath which indicate a slow and steady rise of the Congress and a slow down if not a down slide of the BJP . Shri Ananth Kumar was similarly blowing the trumpet so loud before the last general elections about the Gujarat Model. The Patels agitation in Gujarat has punctured that ballon. The Honeymoon period with the BJP is over and people are getting restless and frustrated with the BJP.

Shakuni, Please note that revival of Congress will start from the win of Gujarat and Punjab. Only the congress has to stratagise properly and take the message to people like pulses prices and petrol and diesel prices the same as it was when oil was 150USD per barrel.

Modi brand name in BJP can't gain more than one seat in Kerala.TN/WB all are gone to secular parties.Pondi's gain for Congress is shot in the arm but Assam lost due to anti incumbency factor. In Kerala Odd /even every successive elections.Sad day in Kerala politics because it allowed one seat for national party!!!!Small and local parties are real gainer. Inspite of romping film star Suresh Gopi and Cricketer SS,BJp could reach electorate effectively.
