NIA arrests wanted IM terrorist from Bhatkal after deported from Dubai


New Delhi, May 20 (IANS) : A senior operative of the Indian Mujahideen was arrested when he flew in here on Friday after being deported from Dubai, officials said.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) took into custody Abdul Wahid Siddibapa at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.


Siddibapa, a resident of Maqdoom colony in Bhatkal in Karnataka, was wanted on charges of conspiring to stage terror attacks at various places in India.

From his base in Dubai, Siddibapa recruited Indians for the Indian Mujahideen and funded their activities, the official said.

A warrant of arrest and a Red Corner Notice had been issued against him, leading to his deportation.

    What a said state of 'Digital India'.First file goes missing then there is no evidence.They call martyrdom of Hemant Karkare is investigation 'dubious'.

    Interestingly there is no Bhatkal name added with accused name.

    Is Bhatkal a terrorist hub or what??? If yes, muslims should avoid sending their children to study in Bhatkal. But in most of the cases, NIA arresting the Bhatkal youths and releasing later as they could not find any evidences. Is this also same case???

    Its good to note that the extradition treaty if working fine with the GCC countries. Karnataka has been a haven for all potential terrorists. Bhatkal is on the international radar. We saw a large number of arrests this year. Mahdi the IS twitter handler was arrested from Blore. These factions are taking maximum advantage of the 'appeasement' tactics of the State Govt. Once the Govt changes , everything will be in control.
